Always build many miners. The more resources you have the more you can build. Furthermore, upgrades are important and should always be started early on. Upgrades will give you a slight advantage over your opponents. Lastly, always create an additional "house" - command center, nexus or hatchery depending on your race.
Terran
Always build a barracks followed by at least one bunker very near your command center. Your command center is your most valuable piece. Without it, you will have no resources. So, always remember to protect it above everything else. Use many SCVs to build several things simultaneously. Never use just one SCV, as this is a very inefficient method. Build approximately 12 to 15 barracks in total. While doing this, constantly build supply depots, and extra miners. You will need your resources very high. Once you complete some of these buildings, immediately start recruiting marines. Get as many as you can. Once you amass an army of marines you should be okay to win many games. If this method alone fails you, then you will want to accompany your marines with a few tanks. Hopefully, in most cases, you will not need anything more.
Protoss
Use 2 to 3 probes to constantly build pylons, and gateways. Start with about 6 or so gateways. You will eventually want approximately 15 to 20 of them in later game. Constantly build Zealots. Once you form a good-sized army, you will have a very fair chance at winning most games. If you are struggling, you will need to add a few Dragoons to your army.
Zerg
Speed. Use speed as your main advantage. Yes, this race does build slowly, but your guys are hatched very quickly and cost relatively little in comparison to the other races. A good strategy is to build Zerglings. Once you have 6 drones, wait for 200 Minerals and immediately make your Spawning Pool. Get your defense up as quickly as you can because you are extremely vulnerable in early game. You will want to place at least 2 Sunkens around your hatchery for protection. Then add drones, and once you see the minerals reach 300 build your next hatchery. You will want to complete at least 6 to 12 hatcheries, 18 or more for long games. Don't forget to constantly build new drones while you are working on making your hatcheries. You will also want to build a Vespene Geyser and put no more than 3 drones on it. When you have 2 to 3 hatcheries start building your Zergling army. Upgrade their speed immediately. Next, you will want to further develop them by upgrading your hatchery until you reach the last evolution - the hive. Once you reach this, you will be able to upgrade your Zerglings one final time for the purpose of speed. Massing a big fast moving army will catch your opponents off guard and render their defenses useless if this strategy is used wisely.
