After a whirlwind overseas tour and a major performance at the 2010 FIFA kick-off concert, South Africa natives The Parlotones are set to release their Indie-Rock album Stardust Galaxies on September 14th. Having already obtained Gold record status in the United Kingdom, The Parlotones hope to achieve similar high regards in the United States when the album is released in September. With sounds similar to the Goo Goo Dolls and Snow Patrol, The Parlotones manage to set themselves apart with their unique songwriting techniques. Each song on the 12-track album tells a different story, some tracks depict stories of uncertainty and wonder, while other tracks reminisce on past years and the happier moments. Stardust Galaxies is an album geared towards many individuals' emotions and is meant to inspire. Stand-out tracks on Stardust Galaxies include the album's most popular release "Push Me To The Floor", "Remember When", "The Brighter Side of Hell, and "Fly To The Moon".

After winning Best Music Video of the Year at the 2010 South African Music Awards, The Parlotones' single "Push Me To The Floor" has gained worldwide success from longtime fans and new listeners alike. Kahn Morbee delivers the powerful vocals, creating a story of a love turned quickly sour through the lyrics, "...And your word is worth nothing when it's at someone else's cost/ And fortunes not appreciated/When the sweet stuff comes to fast..." "Remember When", another stand-out track on Stardust Galaxies, features a rhythmic beat set to inspiring and memorable lyrics mentioning the constant changes in life and society. The lyrics, "...Remember when we were young/Playing cops and robbers just for fun/Then our neighborhood filled up/Filled up with real guns/And we learned real quick that life was sick/When we couldn't fix a problem with a crucifix./" help tell the story of the early times when the real world was not a fear but a joy, and later the world was filled with darker times and uncertainty. "The Brighter Side of Hell" is another stand-out track filled with emotions about the negative vibes surrounding The Parlotones' hometown of Johannesburg, while the lyrics capture the band's positive outlook on the hope towards a brighter future. Lead singer Kahn Morbee sings, "...side by side we will dream/Even though our city bleeds/Close our eyes/Let's just imagine we're in paradise/We're trying so hard to run away/The truth is we really do love it here../" The Parlotones switch gears and sing of happier thoughts in the beautiful rock ballad "Fly To The Moon". The lyrics and music take listeners on a musical journey of love through dreams and fantasies, ignoring reality and enjoying the make-believe. The narrator creates romantic thoughts created in the dream as he sings , "...Side step reality/Build my world of fantasy/Me and my Cinderella/We're gonna fly to the moon.../" The song represents being free of any problems or negative feelings, and "flying" towards a more peaceful world.

After making a successful run throughout the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia, The Parlotones are set to make another strong debut when Stardust Galaxies is released September 14th. For more information and a listing of concert dates, you can visit http://www.theparlotones.net/
