Stars of Hope

Jose Zuniga
A shadow looms,

Breaks and storms,

Into the room

We see it

SWISH

A cold sheet, A blank stare,

A lonely place with creaky stairs,

Shaky floorboards, rats, drip, drip

Goes the faucet, a drop of crimson in the face of it,

Controlled by The Shadow Lord.

A never ending battle ensues

Between good and evil

Which side am I on?

The trembling ceases

A snap! A door shuts,

In the heart a cycling journey

Of overtime with no pay

And the darkness remains,

The dream ends.

A head pounds in pain,

The sickness hasn't left

But the cure is not far off

One can only hope to be

a hopeful star shining on the surface of the earth

and not a puppet of The Shadow Lord.
