Stars and Stripes Festival in downtown Mt. Clemens, Michigan

This weekend is the Stars and Stripes Festival in downtown Mt. Clemens. There will be tons to do for everyone in the family. This includes a full carnival courtesy of Wade Shoes, over 75 art work displays, many delicious food vendors, celebrities, concerts, and fireworks. Festival hours run from Noon to 11 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The kickoff day for the Stars and Stripes Festival is jam packed with events all day long. There will be a BMX Stunt show four times through out the day at 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. This is also a children's petting zoo and pony rides all day long. Jason Mewes from Jay and Silent Bob will be signing autographs from 4-6 p.m. in the tent that is across from the Blue Cruiser on Pine Street. This is where all the celebrity autograph sessions will take place throughout the weekend as well. The concerts on Friday begin at 1:00 featuring many local bands on three stages. The headliner is nationally recording artists Puddle of Mudd, known for songs such as She Hates Me and Blurry. The fireworks display starts at 10 p.m. on the Clinton River.

Saturday's events include autograph sessions by the actress that play Carly Carinthos on General Hospital and the actor who plays Ryan Lavery on All My Children. Both of these will be from 2 - 4p.m. Concerts are all day long as well. Headliners for Saturdays Stars and Strips Festival are Blue Oyster Cult and Paul Rodgers. The BMX stunt show will be performed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 p.m.

The last day of the festival is still fun filled. The autograph session for Sunday will be children's favorite, Captain Jack Sparrow from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday's concerts are headlined by Gin Blossoms. The times for the BMX Stunt show are noon, 2, 4, and 6 p.m. The carnival will still be going on as well.

In addition, there is also a magic stage with multiple performers each day, all weekend long. The celebrities from the autograph sessions will be appearing at the after party at the Emerald Theatre on the day they do autographs. There will be a free shuttle from Gibraltar Trade Center and the Farmers Market if you park at either one of those locations. The Farmers Market parking is free and at Gibraltar Trade Center there will be a $2.00 charge. Parking at the city lots will be $5.00. Lawn chairs, blankets and umbrellas are welcome at the Stars and Stripes Festival. Coolers, pets, bikes, outside food or beverages and skate boards are not allowed.
