Start a Plastic Yard Sign Business at Home

Have you seen the new plastic signs in everyone's yard for the presidential candidates? These plastic type signs are being used for other things too, like yard sale signs, home for sale signs, real estate broker signs and much more. You can start making these signs from your home to earn extra income or even make a living. Here is how to get started.

MAKING THE SIGNS: To make the signs you will need wire to make the frame for the signs and to stick the signs in the ground. You will need small pieces of white plastic for the signs to be made of. You will also need a computer to design the signs and a printer and some vinyl stickers to print on. Once you have these supplies you can get started.

DESIGN THE SIGNS: To design these signs it should be pretty simple. Most people will only want words, so you can simply use your Microsoft Word program on your computer. Simply make the font very large to fill the entire page. You may need to use to 8 X 10 sheets of vinyl stickers to make the sign depending on the size of the plastic you purchased. Make the words as fancy as the customer wants or as plain as the customer wants. Once you print the sign design onto the vinyl sticker, print it out. You can then peel the vinyl sticker and stick it to the plastic to finish the sign. Simply put the plastic sign onto your metal frame and it is done!

ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS: To advertise, the first thing you should do is make a sign for your front yard, with your business name on it and your phone number on it. Then you can do some free signs for some other people who would like signs made for their cause or business or even a party. You can then put your business name and phone number on the bottom of these signs for advertising. Advertise your business in the local newspaper also. Keep people in mind like AVON representatives for their front yards or other people who run businesses out of their homes. Be sure to take pictures of the signs that you have created for potential customers to view. Also make some sample signs for potential customers to view. This will make it easier to sell your products when the customers can see them.
