Depending on your personality, you can do many different things. You can either do Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Mary Kay, and even jewelry or candle sales. There are many ways to start in these businesses once you decide what you want to do. Simply logging onto the internet to find a local sales person in your area is one way, or you can find representatives through your local phone book, or even driving down the street. Go to local stores where many people leave their business cards for perspective customers. Many sales people have magnets on their car to advertise, so you can get their information this way as well.
Once you have decided which home based business you want to do, you need to research the company. Find out if they have any benefits for being with their company. How will you get paid, and when? Are there any consultants in the company that you can go to for advice, help, or ideas to run your business? You also need to see if the company offers incentives for sales, or if you get commission for bringing others into the business. Many good home based businesses will offer one on one coaching calls from someone within the company.
There will be start up costs with any of these businesses. So expect to come up with some money upfront. Mary Kaye requires that you buy $1000.00 worth of products when you sign up. Other companies just require you to purchase enough to show when you have a party. You will also need to advertise if you want your business to be successful. Advertising can cost, depending on how mush exposure you want to give your company. You can advertise with business cards, flyers in your local post office, or placing ads in a newspaper. Advertise on line, or buy magnets for your car. Home based businesses will only be successful if you work to keep them running.
Having a home based business can be very rewarding. You can set your own schedule, work when you want to, and enjoy the perks of being your own boss. So find what suits you best, and make it work.
