Starting Lineup for NASCAR's 2011 Jeff Byrd 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway
Carl Edwards Takes the Pole for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Action
The surprise for this round of qualifying at the most electrifying track on the Sprint Cup calendar was who ended up on row two. Regan Smith powered his Furniture Row Chevy around the track with a time of 15.040 to capture the third place starting position and Richard Childress Racing's Paul Menard continue to turn head with his best season to date. Menard managed a time of 15.045 to start fourth on the field. He continues to be the highlight driver from the RCR stable.
Points leader Tony Stewart will start in 13th on the inside of row seven while Kurt Busch will start on the outside of row 10 in 20th Kyle Busch, who has won three of the last four Bristol races will start in 12th and reigning Sprint Cup champ Jimmie Johnson will start in sixth.
The only driver not to make the race was Kenny Schrader who was running the #32 owned by former crew chief Frank Stoddard. Daytona feel good story Brian Keselowski was hit with a bout of gallstones this week and will have surgery to remove his gallbladder. Former truck series star Dennis Setzer will fill in for the elder Keselowski brother for several races and put the #92 in the show on the outside of row 20.
The 51st Annual Jeff Byrd 500 presented by Food City pays $80,000 to start. See where your driver will start the race below.
