Goals serve two main purposes in your accomplishment career. A goal will make you have to set priorities that you have an obligation to meet. This will save you a lot of hassle of running from project to project without ever really accomplishing anything. The second thing that setting a goal will enable you to do is have a schedule. When you have something in a schedule you know that if you just follow the schedule you will reach the desired goal. This is an incredible motivation to have.
The first thing you should do is get a pen and notepad and be prepared to spend the following hour in organizing the rest of your life. An hour is not that long when you compare it to the saved time you will have when you are finished.
1. Write down your largest goal.
This is the big life defining accomplishment that you want to work for. You should also include a deadline for you to have to achieve this goal.
2. Separate your goal
These goals should be long term and are probably not going to be very easy things to do. This because the most life fulfilling accomplishments built out of smaller accomplishments your goal will probably be able to be taken apart in the order that leads from the start to the completion. When your goal is separated into its parts give a deadline to each of the parts leading up to the goal deadline.
3. Keep Track
It is impossible to know if you are going to your goal if you don't have a way of tracking your progress. Sticking with tracking your goal can be the hardest thing about starting personal goal setting.
Starting personal goal setting will enable you to live a more fulfilled life by managing the biggest things in your life, your dreams. Knowing what you want to accomplish is the hard part and it takes a lot of time to understand exactly what you are looking for.
