Stash For Cash is a savings sweepstake designed for residents of Bed-Stuy exclusively. The fun way to save is simple; just open a club account with at least $25 to be entered into biweekly, quarterly, and grand prize drawings. The catch is you've got to make deposits of at least $25 in order to be entered into each drawing. The prizes range from $50 every other week, $1,000 quarterly, and $4,000 for the Grand Prize winner.
The club account has a 12-month maturity period with a 2% yield. At the end of the year participants will be given all of their money back plus the interest earned.
In addition to the fun savings program, Stash For Cash also offers up education for participants. The Peer Educator Program is designed to spread the message of effective saving and financial responsibility. Interested parties must complete a class and share what they know. The bank offers a monthly stipend and requires at least ten hours of work weekly.
Brooklyn Cooperative Credit Union is located at 750 Myrtle Avenue between Nostrand and Sanford.
