State of Georgia Minimum Wage Pay Increases to $7.25 Per Hour on July 24, 2009

Will this increase help workers here in the state of Georgia or make things worse? Unfortunately, a lot of employers are faced with financial problems because the economy here in the U.S.A. has got so bad. They could possibly raise their prices and make things even worse for Ga. consumers and even their employees.

Simply, because they have to pass on this additional expense of the Ga. minimum wage employee pay increase from $6.55 to $7.25 per hour to consumers and even employees, thus in return causing Ga. daily workers to have to spend more money for the cost of living? At the present time, the U.S.A has an outstanding unemployment rate increase in the past 25 years and seems to be rising at this particular time in history.

A lot of Georgia workers rely on this minimum wage pay everyday, especially fast food workers such as Macdonald's, Burger King, Krystal, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa John's, etc. "Will the Ga. minimum wage workers be able to survive if these employers increase their prices?" Gas prices here in the state of Georgia are already expected to rise during the summer of 2009, because of normal vacation travel here in the U.S.A. although fortunately for U.S. drivers gas prices are lower than the previous year of 2008.

The majority of Ga. minimum wage workers are already struggling to survive using the Georgia government as a supplement to their daily income, especially if they have children in these low income areas and or low class facilities. President Obama has tried every effort to make things "more comfortable" for minimum wage workers here in he U.S.A.. "Certain Ga. minimum wage workers have actually stated they have seen an increase in their pay checks regarding Obama's changes!"

Unfortunately, this minimum wage increase may cause an enormous impact regarding fast food cooks or any other employees that already make $7.50 per hour? "Will these gigantic fast food chains give these particular hard working employees a raise also?" Or will they simply have the attitude of "We just don't care? "This is your present pay, why should we give you more money because of this Ga. minimum wage increase?" (Even tho, a customer service employee off the street just starting out will make $7.25 per hour regarding this increase of pay on July 24, 2009 here in Georgia?).

Present day $7.50 per hour fast food employees in Georgia U.S.A. can do nothing regarding this situation. If they complain to management? What good does it do? These gigantic fast food chains make all the rules and simply state: "If you don't like it, go somewhere else!" Even if they do give them an increase in pay, these companies will pass it along to consumers and even employees, thus causing a chain reaction for higher prices for daily Ga. consumers.
