I can honestly say that the State of the Union address will be no different than the previous he has made. It will be full of the good things going on in Iraq, how we have helped so many. And yes, we are doing a lot of good things all over the world, but there are a boat load of things we could be doing better in Iraq like killing the enemy first. Does anyone else here think it is a good idea to try to "rebuild" a country while there is still a war going on in it? General Patton is spinning in his grave.
I am sure President Bush will have a better outlook for the economy in the next few months, say a few words on the stock market and tax rebates and how both parties need to "come together" to achieve something, but we have heard that for 7 years now. The economy will will rebound, the stock market will rise again and the housing crunch will work itself out. These things always do, I wish he would do a few things to help ease the burden of the general public, though.
First he can start drilling for oil in Alaska; its a simple no brainier, there is more oil right there for the taking, the more oil produced here in the USA will keep costs down for consumers and allow us to cut back on the amount of oil we purchase overseas.
Second, he should say something about "Global Warming". Let's face it we are not killing the planet by anything we are doing. We may be making it harder in the next few thousand years for humans to live here, but the planet is going to be here for billions of years after humans are gone, just as it was before so all you tree hugger can put a sock in it for a while. Geez, every time I see someone with a "Save Mother Earth" sign I want to pull out a few aerosol cans and spray it in the air just to spite them.
I can also predict that he may want to make Iran and Venezuela more of an issue. I would not have a problem with this if done correctly, but somehow if anything does happen in the coming months, it will be hastily planned. This is not a good time for this President. I feel he will try to do too much in too little time and end up not accomplishing anything he sets out to do.
