Amendment IX
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
Amendment X
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
In my educated opinion, these measures will do absolutely nothing whatsoever unless and until both the 16th and 17th amendments themselves are rescinded, giving the state's back both their financial and political voices, rather than simply being lackeys for the federal government and their mandates and directives outside their enumerated duties and powers. It is clear the last president and Congress, and this one, do not honor or acknowledge our Constitution - even though this president was given the oath of office not once, but twice - as were all all these Congressmen upon their election. Instead, their sworm oath is obviously to their political party platforms, celebrity quotient, and economic self-interests (read future campaign contributions and/or stock portfolios).
It's a start at least, since the Ninth and Tenth preceeded the 16th and 17th by a number of years and those amendments were actually ratified by many of the originators. The 16th and 17th amendments essentially removed and diluted the state and people's power with respect to this federal monster that is destroying now everything in it's path, centralizing almost all power in Washington, and left the states at the federal government's mercy and dictates which they use regularly in threats of removal of funding even for those governmental powers with which they actually are responsible, unless the state government's comply with their edicts. But much, much more is needed than simply Resolutions - but an actual reversal of 1913 and those "temporary" supposed amendments which became permanent and which allowed socialism to gain not just a foothold in this country, but to actually replace the Constitutional Republican form of government the founder's fought and died for. The final nail in the coffin in addition to the 16th and 17th was the unlawful creation by the Supreme Court of the fictitious "corporate personhood" and giving large national and multi-national conglomerates and corporations equal and greater status than that of the lawful citizenry, abandoning the federal government's regulatory powers in the process over large (not the small, sole proprietary) corporate concerns doing business in this country. Thus, while the banks are entitled to federal intervention outside the bankruptcy courts for bankruptcy, the citizens are not. Think Boston Tea Party to see how totally contrary to the founder's vision such corporate favoritism actually is, and why we are now living under global corporate socialism, not simply corporate socialism, as the bailout of now even an international insurer (AIG) demonstrated.

Post a CommentThe mainstream media rarely publishes the news anymore. Most of the owners of the major publications are members of the Council on Foreign Relations, which have centralizing government powers in Washington as one of their foremost agendas. Do a web search for the independent newspapers that are reporting this, both online and off. You need to read the independents, not the corporate conglomerate news reports to get any real news anymore.
Whoa! Why is this movement not getting greater publicity? Or did I simply miss the news?
Now misconstrued political correctness had continued to allow these nonelected officials (with now so much vote fraud) to remain in power rather than jailed for the traitors that they are. Since the feds also dictate educational policy now, this dumbing down of American in the Constitution has been progressive and intentional. My generation had to memorize the Bill of Rights, and actually study it and the background of it and the founders. Today's civics classes do little of that, simply an overview of the three branches and downright propaganda with respect to the actual checks and balances as the founder's envisioned.
I agree, few Americans now due to the propagandized educational system even have any idea what the 16th and 17th are. Those two amendments, direct election of federal senators rather than by the state legislators, and the "direct tax" income tax gave Washington gave the corporate machine it's greater influence, and Washington the money to use as blackmail unless their out of bounds federal dictates were enacted. And you are absolutely right, instead now of a governmet of the people, it is a** backward from the founder's intent and the elitists in Washington have become despots. And those that do make the weak efforts to change and reverse this are marginalized, but some of them I believe are speaking out to quell the masses, but aren't exposing the others for the traitors they actually are. It is amusing that these states are making a stand against the federal government yet they know damn well most Americans have no clue what the 16th or 17th amendment is. When both of those amendments were put in place it stripped what little power the states had left at that point. Our government is seemingly backwards where now the states are the agent of the federal government vice the other way around. Question is, who will have the courage to stand up to rescind these amendments? There are only a few in Congress now that would but they have been ostercised by the party political machinations.
