Statue of Liberty-Lady, Swinging on the Corner

Oodles
Oh where is the liberty lady?
I did not see her for a long time
She used to dance there at the
Corner of Claymore and Williams
She would toss her arms about
Just slowly and without worry

Oh where is the carefree lady...
Dressed in that pretty, teal, and long dress
With the floppy graduation cap on top
Listening to her iPod and dancing
Ever so randomly, yet gracefully

Oh what happened to the liberty lady?
I think of her as I drive past the deserted
Corner now, thinking of her current plight
Recalling how my quick beeping pleased her
I wondered about why she was there
Why was she was advertisement embodied
Like those men in strange, bright costumes I see
On the bigger boulevards of town...

Perhaps she was just fine, and having fun
And the shop owner didn't even hire her
Or maybe there was a special deal there
For a short while, just for a week maybe,
But did the small tax shop run out of money?
Because I would gladly pay the seven-odd bucks
To have her there again..

I will think of her again I know
As I cross that corner sometime
If she is there I know I'll play a small tune
With my car's horn, just to show a smile
