When the warm summer air turns crisp, the leaves begin to lose their luster, and the days become shorter you know that fall is right around the corner. Many hardcore exercise enthusiasts have been sticking to their workouts for the entire summer because they like to look good in the warm months. In the cooler months however, exercise, dieting, and losing weight becomes much more difficult. The body has a natural tendency to store extra weight which causes a problem for many people. Read on to learn Five Quick Tips to Stay in Shape in the Fall.

1. Take a Walk. One of the easiest exercises anyone can do is to take a quick walk outside. Enjoy the changing leaves and that fall smell while you keep those calories at bay.

2. Renew Your Gym Membership. Many gyms offer end of summer gym promotions. Make sure you sign up and renew your membership for the fall and winter months when you will need the gym the most.

3. Build a Small Home Gym. For some gym memberships are inconvenient, especially if your gym is not right down the block. One way to stay in shape in the fall is to build up your home gym. Simple machines like free weights, a yoga mat, and a doorframe chin up bar can help tighten up your muscles and keep that extra weight off all through the winter.

4. Be Adventurous. Fall is a great time to go exploring. Look into local natural attractions that you have been meaning to visit but haven't had time for. For example, make a fall trip to the zoo, visit an apple orchard, or jog around the local lake. If you are feeling very adventurous take a hike in a mountainous area and try some climbing.

5. Do not go into hibernation. Battling your appetite in the fall and winter months can be extremely challenging, it is natural for our bodies to want to eat more food and store fat up for the long cold winter months. However, our bodies no longer need this extra layer of fat to stay warm, so keep that in mind and fit your food urge instincts. Eat small meals often and snack on fall fruits such as apples and nuts sparingly. But be sure to indulge yourself every now and then, especially near the holidays to keep you spirits up.
