My favorite tip to staying alert is to squeeze your cheeks! I know this one sounds hilarious, however, flexing your gluteous maximus jump starts your blood circulation at healthy intervals.
Try it. Flex your glutes while you're on a long drive or at your desk. Do this four or five times, holding the flex for as long as you can each time. It's a simple little flexing movement invisible to the world.
You might even get a laugh out of the idea. It doesn't hurt as a conversation piece either, for laughs of course.
Second on my list of faves from the little book is aromatherapy. A small water bottle infused with orange oil is an easy fix when spritzed on your hands, face or neck. This isn't just an energy remedy, but also helps your stress levels.
If you don't have orange essential oil, you should really grab a bottle next time you're at a bath and body store. Aside from its refreshing benefits, the essential oil works as an anti septic for small cuts.
It also has anti inflammatory uses. Plus, it acts as an aphrodisiac when used regularly. Interesting, right?
The book offers some practical self nourishment tips. Plus it's easy to incorporate most of the tips with stuff you might already have in your medicine cabinet or in your kitchen cupboards.
My favorite of the 365 tips is to get 15-20 minutes of unprotected sun exposure each day. Sounds easy right? Sun light is essential for healthy skin and bones.
The book was written by Stephanie Tourles, an esthetician from Massachusetts. She has also authored 50 Simple Ways to Pamper Yourself. Do yourself a favor and pick one up.
