Everyday it seems there is more bad news concerning the economy. Job loss, higher prices and less money to go around. It is important now more than ever to keep your spirits up when times are tough. Keeping a good attitude will help you see clearly to make changes you need during this time. Following these few simple ideas will help to keep your chin up when you feel as if nothing will change.

Exercising daily will keep your endorphins at a good level. Endorphins are the hormones in the brain that help to keep you happy. You do not have to do a major work out, something as simply taking a ten minute walk daily. While working out, your head will clear making way for new ideas that will help with whatever situation you dealing with. Exercising will also help to keep any weight gain down or get you in shape which of course always makes a person feel good.

Hobbies are another way to keep your mood up. Taking time out of your day to spend doing something you truly enjoy will help. Not only will your hobby help your spirit but it may also end up helping your wallet. If gardening is one of your hobbies, take some time and plant extra vegetables. This will keep you busy, watering, weeding and harvesting but it will also provide extra food. Now your hobby is saving you money on groceries. Your hobby may turn into a bigger business adventure for you.

Communicate with friends and family with how you are feeling. Even if they have not been in your situation, they will have empathy towards what is going on. This also gives them the chance to help you. A new idea or plan may arise just from talking with people close to you. It may not be financial help, but instead it may be through networking that lands you a new job. Help might come in the form of clothing for the kids or a home cooked meal. Keeping the communications lines open will allow you not to feel lonely or forgot. Family and friends may be afraid to approach you about the situwation. So make sure to take time to communicate with them, keeping them in the loop on what is going on.

Small easy things will keep you from feeling sad and depressed. You want to keep your spirit up so that you are able to make the changes that you need. Times may be tough but remember people of the Great Depression made it through and so can we. The important thing is to find things that make you happy, communicate with friends and family.
