Staying Sane in Tough Times. How to Deal with Fear Based Fictions

Fear Based Stories and Predictions Are Everywhere, How to Spot Them and Overcome Them.

Jim
As well all know there are many unpleasant events that are occurring globally and locally these days. Many people's thoughts are racing to find solutions to problems and evaluate situations to make decisions. In the midst of all of this, it can be easy to get confused and frustrated. With factors such as stress and mental fatigue at play, it can be very easy to get lost in a sea of uncertainty. With that going on, situations can snowball into much worse than they are with predictions, and expectations of the future. Fear is a natural emotion, but it's also easily exploited. Thoughts based in fear and fictions serve as a potent fuel for emotional flare-ups that are entirely unnecessary. Staying sane in tough times can be a chore sometimes, but I have found it's worth the effort.

Fear based stories set in future tense have been around since dirt. Many different sources have used them for personal and financially gain anytime something went wrong. Their purpose was to use the emotion of fear to inspire people to take a desired action toward an underlying outcome. The media is terrible with this, as well as many news sources. Opinions, stories, and predictions that are set in future tense, usually have no bearing on right now. "Now" is the only time that is possible to live in, which gets neglected by those who are driven to produce artificial emotional responses.

With all of the issues the average person is facing currently, there is no need to add extra stress by dwelling on future doom and gloom predictions. Things like "Predicted Fall of the Economy", "The Coming Apocalypse" and hundreds of other headlines are filling up web space like a landfill. While evaluating and making important decisions in life, do we really need to stop everything to think about these things? Stopping to look around, right now, will reveal there is no apocalypse or any other devastating event occurring. There are problems; there are changes that are happening, but nothing as dramatic as the "end of it all" headlines.

Fear based stories and such can be intentional with an underlying purpose, or innocent projected worry and concern, either can be damaging. Devoting attention to fear based, future tense events can be distracting, upsetting, and lead to taking unnecessary actions as dramatic as building a back yard bomb shelter and stock piling cans of garbanzo beans. We can manage our emotions and use them to our advantage. Any upsetting revelation that is set to happen in the future is based in fear. Dealing with that, and remembering that we only live in the present, can resolve the situation and re-direct your thoughts.

A simple shift in perspective can be very helpful to assist in dealing with unwanted fear based distractions. All that must be done, is learn how to live in the right now time frame. After all, you cant live in the past, anyone and everyone will tell you that until you are ready to scream. On the same point, you can't live in the future either which often gets overlooked. Living in the present is the best option given that it encompasses all that ever was, is, and will be. Anytime you find yourself upset or worried about something that hasn't happened yet, simply stop and concentrate of what is going on right now. This can be a nasty habit to break, but with some will power it can be done.

The times we live in are tough. However, we can all get through this by helping each other and not giving our valuable attention to things that may or may not ever happen. We need not live in fear. We all have the choice to not to live in fear. If we all accept right now, make better choices and ignore all the fear-based hype, we can collectively achieve results that will be more desirable. So, if it's not happening right now, don't give it another thought! Direct your energy and thoughts toward your achieving your goals and desires with confidence.

  • "Now" is all there is, why waste time worring about the future?
  • Fear based stories have been around since dirt.
  • If something isn't currently occuring, and is set in the future, it's fictional.
