Staying on Task when Working from Home

Jennifer Moore
Can you really make money working from home on line? The answer is yes. In today's world the Internet can be a useful tool for someone who wants to work from home. There are many jobs available at your fingertips. Writing is a great way to produce more income. There are several on line writing resources that you can contribute to. Let's start with the one we all know and love.

1 - Associated Content. I have been writing here since July, 2009. The people here are friendly and very helpful. You can publish your own articles or get assignments from associated content. Pay is pretty good and gives you lots of experience. http://www.associatedcontent.com

2 - Constant Content. This site you submit and if approved wait and see if someone buys your articles. Pays more but you have wait for someone to buy your articles. http://www.constant-content.com

3 - Elance. Bid on jobs for writing. You may or may not get the job. If you do the pay is pretty good. http://www.elance.com/p/landing/provider.html?source=index

These are the top three that I am familiar with. I prefer Associated Content over the later two. But there again that's just me.

In order to be a great writer you have to stay focused on the task at hand. Here are a couple ways to help you get and stay focused on your work.

Staying focused.

1 - Have your work area in a quiet room. The less distraction you have the better. This way you have very little interruptions.

2 - Write about something you are passionate about. This could be something in your everyday life, gardening, mechanics, politics, food, and parenting. The list is endless.

3 - Concentrate on your article. Once you know what you want to write about, concentrate on that one subject. Knowing what you want to write and putting it into words should come easy if you know about the subject you are writing. Of course a little extra research won't hurt you. In fact it can always help.

4 - Switching between articles. I stay with one article until it is completely finished. I find going between articles can break your concentration of a great article. Don't switch out, stay with it until you are done.

5 - Time management. Set your hours according to a schedule that will enable you to put the time in that you need for a great article. Say Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Off Thursday. Work it like you would a real job and your benefits will be rewarding.

6 - Family and friend time. Never let writing interfere with your friends and family. They come first. That's why I say have a set time for working from home.

Things to watch out for.

Don't be fooled by scams on the Internet. If someone wants you to pay for you to work for them, that's a huge red flag. They most likely are trying to scam you. There are legitimate jobs where they pay you not the other way around.

I have no use for the pay per click or paid email sites, it's a waste of time and will take you forever to earn anything. Most of them only pay about 1 to 2 cents per email read. Some of them you have to enter personal information on yourself. That's a red flag as well. Before you know it your email will be flooded with spam, or a stolen identity. Stay away from this.

I hope this information was helpful to you in some way. As always strive to be the best you can be and you will succeed.
