Stefani Shaeffer, Trump's New Apprentice

The Apprentice - Stefani Shaeffer

What are the two biggest words in entertainment news today? Are they Anna Nicole? Maybe Adam Sandler? Not today. The two biggest words in entertainment today are, "You're Hired." As in the words Donald Trump uttered during last night's, season six finale of The Apprentice: Los Angeles.

That's right, Donald Trump announced his new apprentice during the live, season six finale at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Stefani Shaeffer, the 32 year old defense attorney who graduated from Southwestern University of Law in the top ten percent. After a grueling, thirteen week interview process, in front of the entire country, Stefani managed to impress Donald, and his children Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr., enough to squeak out a victory over James Sun.

The other two finalists in The Apprentice: Los Angeles season finale were Nicole D'Ambrosio and Frank Lombardi. All four finalists were part of Team Arrow, which from the beginning, seemed to be the underdogs of The Apprentice: Los Angeles. Team Arrow spent more time and lost more challenges than their opponents, Team Kinetic.

The finale of The Apprentice: Los Angeles was actually a bit of a snoozer, but it did have its highlights. Donald Trump asking Tim Urban, who had a romantic relationship with Nicole, who should be the next apprentice resulted in an agreement that Tim's opinion on the matter was slightly skewed. A moment that was almost cute, given all the attention that romance had seen. Surya Yalamanchili telling the Donald that he knew of a guy by the name of Sanjaya that needed a job, was almost priceless in this TV addict's book.

The really odd thing about Stefani's win on The Apprentice: Los Angeles, is that she had never actually been a project manager on any of their tasks. At the end, when it was her and James, they did kind of split the tasks, and she did keep James on track, but is that the same as actually being a project manager? I'm really not too sure about that, but then again, I don't run multi-billion dollar companies everyday either. Let's look at some bio snapshots of Stefani Shaeffer, and maybe somewhere in these facts lies what Donald Trump say in his new apprentice:

- Stefani was selected as Los Angeles Magazine's "Young Rising Star" in 2006 due to her excellence in law.

- Stefani defends California employers against worker's compensation, subrogation and discrimination claims as well as large real estate developers.

- Stefani claims, "I should be the next apprentice because I lead by being enthusiastic and enthusiasm is contagious and motivates people to work much harder."

Another show I've not seen. Good review. :)

I love this show - great article. Stefani was definitely my pic. On the final show, I thought Trump was going to pick James because the panel kept saying Stefani rode under the radar. Whew! She will do great in that organization. Thanks for the article.

You know, I remember seeing Kendra, now that you mention her. It was only in magazine articles and stuff, since I never watched the show though.

Great article, Trump hired a female for his apprentice before, Kendra. We have watched The Aprrentice since season one and love it. I liked Frankie better than Stefani, but he wasn't polished enough like you said.

I do believe this is the first female Apprentice. This is the first season I watched the show, though, but I am hooked.

I haven't watched this show in a while, so I have no idea what's been going on. This is the first woman he's hired, isn't it?

Frank was the Brooklyn go-getter that didn't have nearly enough spit and polish to make it with The Donald.

  • Ryan Stephens4/24/2007

I watched the first show and never made it around to anymore - was Frank the guy that did a crappy job at the car wash and almost cried when he thought me might get sent home?

Good review. I caught the show for the first time in a while the other night.
