My son loves to play with his Step 2 Naturally Playful Front Porch Playhouse. My husband and I purchased it from Toys R Us on sale for $239.00. You can also order it online for $299 but then you have to pay a ton of shipping costs. I would suggest that if you have a pick up truck or an extremely large SUV, you pick it up from the store. The box weighs 111 pounds so you should have two people pick it up from the store. If you don't have a big enough truck than you can take out the parts and put them in the car that way, but then you can't return the playhouse.
Assembly:
It took my husband two hours to put it together by himself. At first he wasn't using his electric drill but it was taking forever to assemble. Once he started using the electric drill, it went much faster. I was watching him out it together from the house and it looked like it would have been much easier for two people to put it together. I couldn't help him because I was inside watching my son. The playhouse requires 4 AAA batteries. Two batteries are for the phone and two batteries are for the doorbell.
Description:
My favorite part of the playhouse is the front porch. There is a yellow bench seat that my son likes to sit on. There is a green little door to enter the playhouse from the front porch. If the sun is strong, my son can be in the shade under the roof of his playhouse. Once entering the playhouse, there is a phone on the wall that my son can remove and walk around with. There is a sink and a stove knob that clicks. When you look up inside the playhouse there is a skylight, so cute. There are two windows that have burgundy shutters that open and close. There is another window with a window seat. There is another front window overlooking the front porch.
My Opinion:
I really like the Step 2 Naturally Playful Front Porch Playhouse for my son and his friends. They really enjoy playing with it. I was happy to see that there was enough room inside for two children to play with at the same time. I would say three children in there would have been a tight fit. My son and his friend were climbing though the window and the ledge didn't break. Even though this playhouse is made out of plastic, it seems to be holding up well. It has withstood downpour rains and strong wind gusts. We moved it onto the grass because there is no floor inside the playhouse. The front porch has a floor but the inside doesn't. Now if my son falls, he will fall onto the grass. It would have been nice if there was a floor inside too. That is one design flaw of this product. It comes with decals to put on too, like 246 is the house number. The playhouse is heavy enough that the wind doesn't turn it upside down, it is extremely windy where we live, but it is light enough that I can move it if I need to.
Overall, I am so pleased with this purchase. The price was right and my son loves it
