Step 2 Whisper Ride Buggy: Toddlers and Parents Love It!

If Your Toddler is Tired of the Stroller, Try the Step 2 Buggy Instead!

Suzanne Rose
One of the nicest ways to get a young toddler out of the house is to take a walk, however as toddlers get older they start to get bored of the stroller. They feel confined or they feel like they are forced into it and sometimes may reject the stroller completely. The Step 2 Whisper Ride Buggy provides many of the same conveniences of a stroller, but the main difference is that toddlers seem to enjoy it more!

The Step 2 Whisper Ride Buggy can be purchased at many toy stores for around $60. It may seem like a lot, but you will get a lot of use out of it! It comes in Blue or Pink and is 34.00 H x 45.50 L x 16.50 W so it will fit into your car for travel. The toy is made to look like a car with 4 wheels, a steering wheel and a hood. It comes with many decorations so you can add sticker headlights, a bumper grill, and even the gauges that are inside a real car.

Putting it together was moderately easy. The hardest part my dad and I had was putting in the steering wheel. The product instructions make it seem like it would snap in easy, but with our gentle pushing it just wouldn't stay in. Finally my dad went ahead and just gave it a good smack and it locked into place. Many of the other pieces, such as the cup holder, are screwed on so they can't be taken off. Finally, the stickers go on easily and are merely for looks.

It's like a stroller, but way more fun for kids! Like a stroller, it has a seat-belt attachment to hold the toddler in. It has two slots on the side for his feet so they aren't dragging on the ground. Just like a stroller, the parent will control where it goes. The toddler just sits there and enjoys the ride.

You might be thinking "If it's just like a stroller, why do kids love it more?" Well even though it works just like a stroller and keeps the kid confined as far as the parent is concerned, the kid thinks it is a fun toy! My nephew will get in it on his own and say "walk" to go for a walk. He is excited to go for a "drive". The fact that he can climb in on his own makes it that much more appealing. The steering wheel can be turned and has a horn that makes a neat little sound he loves to press. Even though he's not steering the car, he enjoys playing with it as if he was steering.

When he's not in it, he loves playing with the hood and putting stuff into it such as toys and rocks, but this under the hood is also a good place for snacks (provided they are wrapped well). You could have your kid put some snacks under the hood, then go for a walk to the park where he can eat them. The cup holder is a great place for a bottle or sippy cup that your kid can easily access without needing your help.

Overall: If you just want to get your toddler out of the house, but he's not too fond of strollers anymore, give this a try! To you it's a convenient way to push your kid around - but to the kid it's a fun ride! The "whisper" part of the title means it is quiet, it's probably just as quiet as most strollers. You won't be bothering your neighbors with this toy because they won't even hear it coming. Check out Step 2's website for more information and look for deals in your local toy stores today!

The best part about it really is that he gets in it voluntarily instead having to be tricked into it like we did with the stroller. Kids love it :)

I considered this - and now everytime Colleen wants to walk or stand I truly wish I had gotten it!
