You Can Give it a Try
Another person's kids can
be quite fun
specially if they go home
when dinner is done.
Being a kind of sort of
step mama can be
a challenging story -
you're telling me!
Love 'em or not
like'em sometimes that's yes
all you can do today is
your best.
Step mama-hood is
something you can learn
it ain't easy and you will have
to try to be stern.
None of your habits or
stories do they know
it's not their fault it just
is so.
Another person's kid won't
have your smile or eyes
friendship is the bond you
can give a try.
You didn't ask for this
and neither did they -
you're thrown together for now
or come what may.
