The first book I read authored by this particular King was "Pet Sematery". Reading that kind of book at the age of about 15 was really scary then. It was about that piece of land where the dead came alive when buried there - it really brought fear to my tender young heart.
Then, I started looking for his other works...
The Shining
The Dead Zone
Different Seasons
Misery
Carrie
Thin
Cujo
Danse Macabre
Buick
Fire-starter
Hotel
And a few more.................
Whew! I just love reading those novels. You know it's a good piece when you still remember the feeling when you read it after so long ago. It's like a friend that leaves a mark in your heart - it was there once.
Different Seasons - is another good piece - it kept me turning the pages for few hours until towards the end.
Firestarter - brought tears to my eyes because it's about an innocent little girl with a dangerous gift and the strong-bond between the girl and his father. It is frightening what that little girl can do to the world.
And I've watched some of them re-created in films. But I still like reading. The special thing about reading those horror stories is that you have the chance to read what's in the characters' minds and feel their fears much more...
For those who has not read any of King's work, do it now... Good readings.
