Stepping Out, Wii Style, with Sarah Palin and Barack Obama

I've been doing my step aerobics each day with Sarah Palin, Barack Obama, and Anakin Skywalker - on myWii! How did my Wii Fit become populated with such a cast of delightful characters? I have my artistic 8-year-old daughter to thank for that. Each evening as I hula-hoop, step, and jog, I have a host of celebrities sweating beside me. Every so often, I see Sarah Palin cheering me on as I ski down the slalom course.

Making celebrity Miis for your Wii Fit, or any other Mii-compatible game, is as easy as making your own personal Mii. Just as you choose a face shape, skin color, eyes, hairstyle, body shape, and other characteristics for yourself, do the same for your celebrity Mii. Exaggerate distinctive characteristics for the best effect.

Making a Sarah Palin Mii

First, go into the Mii Channel where you can create your Mii. Start by choosing a female Mii and then adjust the body type so that she is tall and slender. Choose the color red as her favorite to signify her association with the Republican Party. The favorite color designation affects the color of the clothes that your Mii wears. Next, choose the bun hairstyle and make sure the hair color is set to brown. Finally give her a pair of orange sunglasses. Type "Sarah Palin" for your Mii's name.

Making a Barack Obama Mii

Choose a male Mii with African American coloring and close cropped hair. Again, tall and slender is the name of the game. Currently, the Mii Channel lacks any controls for ears and ear size, so you won't be able to exaggerate Obama's ears. Instead, go for an intense gaze with large eyes and a somewhat-goofy smile. Type "Barack Obama" for your Mii's name.

Making a Clone Wars Anakin Skywalker Mii.

First, go to the Mii Channel. Next, make a new Mii, choosing male for its gender. Then make sure he is tall and slender, making sure that he is one inch smaller than the maximum height. Next, give him the hair that looks most like it does in the movie Star Wars the Clone Wars and then reverse it so that his bangs point in the opposite direction. Make his hair brown and make his favorite color blue or black. Type "Anakin Skywalker" for your Mii's name.

Once you have a group of celebrity Miis created, you'll soon see them participating in your Wii Fit workouts as well as in the background of your Mii-compatible Wii games. Having familiar faces join your virtual environment keeps you smiling as you get back into shape. Hopefully Johnny Depp will find his way into my Mii Channel.
