The movie plot seems chilling and real enough--filmed by an amateur young adult who takes you on a first hand look of what happens when his neighborhood comes under siege from aliens. The struggles and fear he and his friends have gone through just so they can stay alive long enough to vacate the city is documented step-by- step. The show is set to stage with the eye jiggling "jitter cam style" (remember the Blair witch project?)
The camera puts you right there--as if you were watching all of the horrifying events take place right before your eyes.
I have seen several movies on the big screen, but this one really makes you think for a split second--what would I do if aliens suddenly attacked?
Yes, it is purely science fiction but I know the thought lies in the back of everyone's mind that we would be utterly defenseless if we were under attack and had no idea what we were up against.
Recently, there have been several rumors and speculations surrounding UFO's and other unidentified happenings across the globe. Many of these so called "Space Ship" sightings have been debunked with the help of some prominent scientific experts and YouTube enthusiasts.
The thought still remains, does the U.S. government really cover up these things to help prevent widespread panic? Or is most of what we know about aliens and UFO's stem from all of the far fetched sci-fi movies that we all know and love.
Whether Area 51 truly exists or not, or if all of these unconfirmed spaceship and alien sightings are true or false-- many people still question if there may be life existence beyond earth.
So, for those who still have that fear, I have compiled some steps that may be beneficial if you happen to turn on the news to see that our world is be over taken by towering, fast-moving creatures.
Leave or Go?
That is the first question I'm sure you will ask yourself. If you find out that there seems to be only one city or destination that is being attacked and it is not your own-- it may be beneficial to stay right where you are. If you decide to stay near your home or in one location--prepare an underground living area or safe room inside your home so that you and your family are isolated from the destruction happening on the ground surface.
Stay away from tall buildings and bridges.
Like the movie Cloverfield, skyscrapers and large bridges should be avoided at all costs. Surely, do not use an elevator in the time of any natural disaster, alien attack or emergency. Using the stairs will be a much safer option.
Gather near the military and police.
This is a very good idea, but only if it is attainable. Staying around a group of people who are trying to find safety and direction during this disaster is a good pack to follow. They will know where to direct you in case you need emergency medical assistance.
Conserve Water.
The first thing you should do if you feel you are under attack other than grab a gun and weapons to protect yourself is to conserve as much water as humanly possible. The water supply will most likely be one of the first things to become contaminated. Without water, it will be extremely difficult to survive any length of time if resources become unavailable.
Avoid Looting.
While many people will be out on the streets reeking more havoc than the aliens themselves--do not attempt to follow others into the mall and steal televisions and other electronics. You could be shot on the spot--police will hesitate on making arrests in an emergency situation like this, they may just shoot you down. After the disaster is over, it will be more difficult financially and physically for store owners to repair and clean up their businesses.
If an attack was imminent, widespread panic would surly set in right away--even the coolest heads would be freaked out at the sight and sounds of something they thought never existed.
So if you do live in mid-town Manhattan, New York and you look outside your apartment to see the head of the Statue of Liberty crashed down on the street below--It is a sure bet that aliens have landed.
Thus far, from what we as civilians know, aliens have never landed on Earth--or so we have been told. For those who believe otherwise, preparation is key!

Post a CommentHaha @ JP Thanks for the comment!
You forgot to add in the section on going underground, "Do not go underground if the aliens look like giant worms. That's where they live" I always thought I would attempt to befriend the creatures, knowing deep down inside I can charm anything that looks non-human. (Just ask my ex husband! LOL)
Love the article - I recently wrote a survival guide for dealing with a zombie infestation in your community - and I don't think anyone knew just what to think of it!
I have my tinfoil hat! I say go to bad neighborhoods where even aliens have the sense to stay out.
Remember the movie "Signs", where water was the ultimate killer for aliens. HA!
I got to see the movie to know where this advice should have been considered.
This is a great article....Now can I have my ex declared as an ailen?!!
How about dressing up as an alien and then we can confuse them? ha very cute article I loved it!
