Think what steps we are taking now to bring about this wonderful concept. Consider that in past ages it was impossible due to the separation of governments and political conditions. However, we now find ourselves in an ever-advancing age of technology. In just a few short years we have vastly expanded the ability to communicate and to possess instant knowledge of matters wherever they take place on planet earth. Many entrenched ideas are changing on a daily basis, and concepts once thought to be the 'light of their time' have given way to new theories and practices. Any individual who pauses to consider the world as we know it today would be awed by the steady advancement of this new age. The leaders of the nations must also recognize this outstanding feature and raise the standard of the need and inevitability of world peace.
Aside from abolishing the three major prejudices that hold mankind apart, there are other considerations, neither unimportant in their capacity. Of these, essential is the recognition that religion was revealed to bring peace, not to separate mankind; it is the admission by all that there is One God and that His Revelations as revealed by the Prophets of God are not at odds one with the other, but a progression of teachings that are intended to bring the ultimate purpose of mankind, unity and world peace. It is essential that we understand, if there is One God, that His religion is essentially One, and the purpose of religion is unity.
Likewise, we must adhere to the concept that mankind is One; that the creation of man is the Supreme Talisman of God, and that we are all the leaves of the same tree, the flowers of one garden. At one time the people were separated due to various conditions, but now we find ourselves all coming together. We intermingle and intermarry, and find a melting pot of the cultures. Now to love just one's neighbor, or to love just one's nation has evolved and now it is for us to love mankind, for mankind is one. Consider, how in centuries past, people were separated; separated by extensive distances, means of travel, oceans, mountain ranges, established borders between tribes, cultures, etc. But today, we find ourselves intermingled and striving for similar goals. We must come together as one human family.
One of the great evolutionary tides of this day is equality, especially the plight and equality of women. Women are the bearers of children, they nurture children from that tender age and impose upon them education by example and effort. Consider then the importance of education for women. In many countries women were not educated before today, yet this education is the most important in order for families to progress. Women are like one of the wings of the bird, the other is men. If these wings are balanced, then that bird of humanity soars in the realms of its reality, but if one is less than the other, then the bird cannot fly. Thus it is essential that women take up their role of equal rights with men. One can understand that mankind could not achieve its true prosperity unless and until this happens. The role of women as leaders is as well of primary importance, because women are less passive than men in situations that can lead to conflict, and what woman would want to send her child to war. Women tend to resolve conflict before it happens, while men tend to turn to the final solution, which is the battle.
We suffer today, for example, with a strange yet seemingly impossible problem, the problem of languages and dialects. Yet there is a solution if the leaders of the world can consider a simple agreement. For example, no one wants to lose their cultural language. But we are faced with the impossibility of translating and interpreting such a myriad of languages into the cultural languages of all countries, thus we remain at odds due to language and misunderstanding. However, if the leaders of the world would agree that a second universal auxiliary language should be taught to all people, each would keep his cultural language while being able to converse universally in the universal auxiliary tongue; thus there would be universal understanding and conversation.
There is more we must consider. Universal education, a universal system of weights and measures, a universal currency, and a world tribunal that would maintain the sovereignty of all countries, yet provide for universal peace. All of these we must address without fail. We must work and provide for world peace.

Post a CommentAs to your last paragraph, we already have all those things. It's called the United States of America. Our nation is the closest man has yet come to living in freedom and harmony. A larger percentage of Americans live a decent life (by Western standards)than any other time in history. As imperfect as we are we are still the best hope for the world. And until the aliens come calling, we ain't gonna be one of nuthin' on this rock! Humans, BY NATURE, gather along familial, tribal, cultural and racial lines. Dreadfully Humanity has gotten in the way of your vision. It will always be so. When will the "big thinkers" ever grasp that on many levels we are still an animal, and will always be. And English is already the universal language. I take it you think that is a BAD thing? America Rocks!!!!!!!!
