Sterling Casino Lines Cruise Ship is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening, even if you're not an avid gambler. I actually do not like gambling, but it was a fun and different way to spend my Saturday afternoon with friends.

The cruise we took departed at about 11 a.m. and returned around 4 p.m. It takes about a half hour to get to the designated three miles out to sea before the gambling can begin, but on the way out, enjoy drinks and a complimentary buffet featuring sandwiches, chips, salads and desserts. There are also several musical acts to entertain you.

Or, choose to sit out on deck and watch the waves go by underneath the beautiful Florida sunshine. Make sure to bring some sunscreen, though, because even the short time outside is enough to burn your skin!

The casinos start up once you hit the three-mile mark out to sea. Try your luck on quarter or dollar slot machines, hit the tables for poker and blackjack, try a game of craps or roulette or just enjoy watching everyone around you try their luck. Despite the fact that I've never gambled before, it was still fun to try out a slot machine and watch everyone else take in the games.

In addition to the complimentary buffet, there's also a food counter featuring some of the most delicious, biggest slices of pizza you can imagine. I got a massive slice of pepperoni pizza for $1.75. They also carry hot dogs, submarine sandwiches and various drinks & food items.

Dress for the cruise is casual, but definitely bring a sweater or light jacket because it can get a little cool in the casinos. Also, don't forget, all guests must be 21 years of age or older, since the cruise is a gambling environment where alcohol is served.

Sterling Casino Lines Cruise Ship can also accommodate large groups, like birthday parties and wedding receptions. The cruise is entirely free (you bring your own money for gambling!). The ship departs from Port Canaveral, a mere 45-minute drive from Orlando.

For those of you concerned about motion sickness on the high seas, don't worry too much. The ship is larger than I expected actually, and the motion wasn't too rough. However, keep an eye on the weather to see wave height, and if you're prone to motion sickness like I am, it never hurts to take a pill for nausea in advance. Also, be sure to eat and drink plenty, and surprisingly, I less felt the motion while down in the casinos rather than up on deck.
