Sterling Testing Systems

This company offers work from home opportunities for reference verifiers or external verifiers. What this job entails is contacting references of people who have applied for positions with various companies. Sterling Testing Systems is that company that contacts your references when you apply for a position with a company. You are the person who is contacting former employers, schools, and associates that people list as references on their application. Your job is very important in that you need to gather accurate information and gather it quickly for a quick turnaround for applicants and companies waiting on reference checks that allows them to move on to the next phase in the hiring process.

Sterling Testing Systems is located in New York but hires verifiers across the country. You receive training and are assigned to a team with a team leader that you can ask questions about the files. You are assigned a number of files per day, however, if you don't complete the files it will be assigned to someone else. Most home workers work an average of 20 hours a week. The pay is $8 an hour, which is not much based on the importance of the job and sometimes the lack of files, which means less hours.

When I worked for Sterling the company required their home verifiers to work at least 20 hours a week. This was a major problem for many workers because they don't receive enough files to even get the required amount of hours. Although and unfortunately, the lack of files seem to be determined by what team you were assigned to. I will also explain why I thought the $8 an hour was pretty low. First, there are a couple of other companies that hire verifiers and they pay per case completed. To me this is a better deal because you usually end up making more than $8 an hour, if you receive enough files. One company pays $15 per completed case. I guess in Sterling's case, the file doesn't need to be completed but the more you complete the more you may receive and the more hours you can put in.

But some people, including myself, like the idea of being paid on an hourly basis, you know how much you will make and there is no guesswork. In my honest opinion based on my experience in working with Sterling Testing Systems, it depends on what team you get on that determines how successful you are, and if you stay with this company. It also determines your perception of how this company treats their home workers. Some claim Sterling Testing Systems is one of the best work at home companies, while others claim the company is one of the worst out there to work for.

The work itself can be interesting and challenging. I loved doing this type of work, however, Sterling Testing Systems as a company left much to be desired. Not to mention the pay could have been better, $8 an hour is not enough to live off of, if you live in a mid-sized or large city. So, if you want to work for Sterling Testing Systems be sure it is not your only job and be sure you have a backup because of the pay and because of other company circumstances that are out of your control. For Sterling testing Systems, you do not need a second line just a computer and a phone to make calls.
