Steve and Barry's Does it Again with Dear by Amanda Bynes Clothing Line

In light of the recent article I submitted on the BITTEN by Sarah Jessica Parker clothing line, I thought I would also discuss another line produced by another actress at Steve and Barry's.

The clothing line, dear By Amanda, hit Steve and Barry's in August of 2007, two months behind BITTEN. The line is the first clothing line to be launched by famous actress Amanda Bynes, who has excelled in the industry going from All That and the Amanda Show to movies such as She's the Man, Hairspray, and Sydney White.

Much like the BITTEN line, Dear by Amanda seeks to provide fashionable clothing for any woman of any stature for an affordable cost. All items presented on that line are $19.98 or less. While the clothing line is not as extensive as BITTEN, it proudly boasts a collection of 120 articles of clothing, 28 accessories, and 70 pieces of jewelry. Clothing includes denim jeans, knit tops, dresses, and graphic hoodies. Accessories include shoes, hats, and belts. Outerwear will be introduced to the line, as well. The dear by Amanda clothing line aims to cater to a younger audience of women, primarily teens and young adults.

Amanda Bynes chose to partner with Steve and Barry's for the same reason as Sarah Jessica Parker. She fell in love with the store philosophy of offering high quality fashionable clothes at affordable prices, and wanted to take part in changing the approach that to have high fashion, you must have plenty of money. She wants teenagers to be able to have a full wardrobe with a vast majority of mix and match pieces with money left over to go out and show off the looks.

The name dear comes from Amanda's desire to create pieces that every girl will hold "dear" to them for several years. The line is derived from her own sense of style and comfort.

The website http://www.dearbyamanda.com shows the clothing line in more detail. There is a feature called "My Closet" which allows users to create outfits from the collection and see how they look, since the pieces in the collection boast mix and match. An account must be registered for and created before the looks created can be saved or emailed to friends, but the feature may be tried out without registering for an account. Continue looking around and check out the dear thoughts section that can be found through the closet feature. There is a blog written by Amanda expressing her thoughts and feelings as she moves through the launch tour. Don't forget to check out http://www.steveandbarrys.com for information on the fashion line, too.

Amanda Bynes and Sarah Jessica Parker certainly have a great idea with their clothing lines. Between the two of them women in a vast age group coming in all shapes and sizes can be fashionable without being broke.

Bynes launched this line much for the same reason as SJP launched BITTEN, but to a younger crowd.
