The new Apple iPhone 4 is thinner than previous iPhones. Jobs states it is "the thinnest smart phone in the world" at a mere 9.3 millimeters with steel sides and glass on the front and back. In comparison the iPhone 3 is 12 millimeters, almost a half a inch thick. For anyone calculating that is 24 percent slimmer than the previous model.
Some of the other improvements over the iPhone 3 is the battery life, the iPhone 4 will have nearly 7 hour battery life, almost 40 percent more than the iPhone3. Both phone models have a 3.5 inch screen, but the iPhone 4 has a unbelievable 960 by 640 resolution with "retina display. With 326 pixels per inch it will have incredibly clear text. It also touts a 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash, and 5X digital zoom.
The icing on top of the cake is the iphone 4 is what Jobs calls "Face Time", video calling with a HD video recording. Unfortunately video calling will only work between iphone 4's not with other Apple iPhones. For this year the video calling will have to be done with Wi-Fi while improvements to AT&T's network are made.
Some other exciting features are this summer you will be able to watch movies on the iPhone 4 with Netflix movie streaming. And for Facebook users the highly addictive and extremely popular Farmville will also be available
Apple is adding Bing Microsoft's search engine in addition to the we search engines by Google and Yahoo. Pre-orders for the new iPhone 4 will start on June the 15th. And available for purchase in the U.S., United Kingdom, France, Japan and Germany on June 24th. The 16-gigabyte version will cost $199.00, and the 32-gigabyte will be $299.00. This is with a two-year contract with AT&T, the only service provider for iPhone in the United States. The new Iphone 4 will be available in black or white. If you already have a contract with AT&T they are offering a upgrade offer to the iPhone 4, if your contract is set to expire any time in 2010.
By the end of July the Iphone 4 will available for purchase in 18 countries including Canada, Hong Kong, Italy, South Korea, Australia and Singapore. Worldwide fans will be excited to know the new iPhone 4 will be available in 88 countries by the end of this September. With over 100 new features and 1500 applications I am sure the new Apple iPhone will live up to all the hype and then some.
Book lovers will be happy to hear the Apple's iBooks e-reader software that came out with the iPad in April, is also available. Consumers will have the capability to sync books on their iPod Touch, iPhones or iPad.
