Steve McNair Dead in Most Mysterious Celebrity Death Yet

Robert Dougherty
Steve McNair is dead, which makes Steve McNair one of the more unlikely dead famous names in some time. Steve McNair was found dead yesterday, along with a young woman, in a mysterious double murder. Steve McNair being dead shocked the football and sports world, since Steve McNair was one of the last people expected to be murdered. With Steve McNair dead, there are about a billion more questions than answers at the moment, as the death is more mysterious today than it was yesterday.

All that is known is that Steve McNair was found dead yesterday in his condo, at the age of 36. Further blurring the mystery was that a young woman was found dead with him. According to Nashville police, the dead woman was 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi. McNair and Kazemi were rumored to be dating, but nothing can be confirmed.

Kazemi was killed with one gunshot to the head, while McNair allegedly had multiple wounds, including one in the head. No suspects have been named, and no one can officially call it a double homicide or murder yet.

With few details being released, and few having been found, it only makes it more odd that Steve McNair is dead. McNair didn't make a habit of getting into legal trouble, and was relatively clean-cut, at least by NFL players standards.

Steve McNair thrilled Tennessee football fans for years, taking the Titans to the absolute brink of a Super Bowl title in 2000. He is best known for his co-MVP season in 2003, and for getting the Titans one yard shot of taking the Rams to overtime in Super Bowl 34. McNair retired as a Baltimore Raven a few seasons ago.

The news that Steve McNair was dead came out of nowhere, but people are getting used to hearing about such deaths. The recent virus of famous deaths in 2009 has now struck the sporting community again.

The last month alone has claimed many famous people, but McNair is the first sports star to be dead in this recent wave. Baseball suffered a string of deaths a few months ago, highlighted by the sudden death of Angels' pitcher Nick Adenhart and Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas. Recently, it was famous entertainers that were dying off.

2009 has been one of the biggest years for famous people to die in a while, and the year is only half over. Steve McNair's death will rank as one of the most sudden, and may stand to be the one with the fewest answers and explanations for a while.
