Steve McNair and the Tennessee Titans

Anyone who lives in Tennessee is familiar with the name Steve McNair. Quarterback Steve McNair played 11 seasons with the Tennessee Titans and helped lead the team to the Super Bowl in 1999. He was originally drafted by the Houston Oilers in the 1995, where he led the team in rushing touchdowns. When the Houston Oilers moved to Tennessee and became the Titans, Steve McNair became a household word in the state where he was known fondly as "Air McNair." McNair was part of the "Music City Miracle" where Steve McNair helped the Titans pull off a win at home during the playoffs against the Buffalo Bills in a Wild Card game. That alone would have cemented his name in local lore, but Steve McNair went on to lead the team to many other victories. He transferred to the Baltimore Ravens in 2006 where he remained until his retirement in 2008.

Steve McNair and DUI Arrests

McNair had his share of trouble with the law. In May 2003, Steve McNair was charged with a DUI and with illegal gun possession. In May of 2007, McNair was charged with a DUI for being a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for suspicion of drunk driving. The pickup truck in question was registered to Steve McNair, and under Tennessee law, a vehicle owner is prohibited from letting it be driven by someone who is inebriated. Two days ago a black Cadilac Escalade registered to both Steve McNair and Kazemi was stopped for speeding on Nashville's Broadway. Kazemi, who was war driving, was arrested for DUI. McNair was a passenger in the car when Kazemi was arrested.

The Steve McNair Foundation

Steve McNair was also the founder of The Steve McNair Football Camp for children and The Steve McNair Foundation, both dedicated to serving underprivileged children through programs that focused on sports. He came under fire in Nashville earlier this year when he sponsored a pap rally for the Baltimore Ravens to benefit Ronald McDonald House.

Steve McNair's Family

McNair leaves behind a wife Mechelle and four sons: Junior, Steven, Tyler and Trenton. Son, Steve Jr. is a wide receiver at Hattiesburg Oak Grove High School in Mississippi, the state where Steve McNair grew up.
