Steve McNair Text Messages from Sahel Kazemi - Other Lover Leah Ignagni Identified

There have been several recent developments in the case involving former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi, his girlfriend. Police believe that Kazemi killed McNair and then herself on July 4, 2009.

First, Nashville police have released text messages that were exchanged between McNair and Kazemi hours before the murder-suicide was committed.

In addition, CBS News has issued a report stating that Nashville police have also released the name of Leah Ignagni, who has been identified as Steve McNair's lover in addition to Kazemi. (For pictures of Leah Ignagni, click here. For photos of Sahel Kazemi, click here.)

Text Messages between McNair and Kazemi

Monday evening Nashville police released the 50 text messages exchanged between former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi. The messages were written on July 4, 2009 two hours before McNair was shot to death by Kazemi police believe, who then turned the gun on herself.

The authorities feel that the messages confirm their belief that Kazemi felt her life had gotten out of control. One of the messages she sent to McNair asked him for several thousand dollars to pay her bills. She also told him that she was having trouble breathing, to which he responded by asking if he should come over.

Kazemi told him "no" and that was going to take a nap.

Apparently, the text messages reveal that McNair later told Kazemi that he had had somebody else transfer the money and he also told her to leave the front door open. Those messages also prove that Kazemi met McNair at the Nashville condominium where he was later shot.

Later, Kazemi sent three text messages to McNair asking if she could meet with him. Although McNair had replied that he was having trouble with his sons going to sleep, he was actually seen at a restaurant with some of his friends.

Kazemi then told McNair via text that she was going to go to his condo to which he responded that he was on his way and that she should leave the door open. Apparently, Kazemi got there first and texted McNair at 1:14 am saying the condo was open.

The final text message was from Kazemi which came at 2:23 am. She told McNair that she was going to the store, but Nashville authorities believe that message was "out of synch" with the others. A T-Mobile Specialist, told police that it was possible that there had been a technical problem which could have delayed the delivery of the message, possibly sent earlier.

Leah Ignagni - McNair's Second Lover

In addition to Nashville police's report of the text messages, they also stated that Leah Ignagni told them that she had been followed by a woman in the same model car as Kazemi had owned.

Ignagni told authorities that when she once left McNair's condo on Lea Avenue that she saw a female inside a black Cadillac escalade that followed her as she drove to her home.

Emily Andrews, Sahel Kazemi's former roommate, had confirmed that Kazemi knew about Ignagni stating that she had once found a tampon in McNair's wastebasket at the condo on Lea Avenue. She also stated that Kazemi told her she had seen a female leaving his condo.
