Steve McNair Will Be Missed

Steve McNair aka Air McNair was shot on July 4th 2009 in Nashville, TN.

Wikipedia biographies McNair as follows: McNair led the Titans to the playoffs four times, and the Ravens once, and played college football at Alcorn State, where he won the 1994 Walter Payton Award as the top player in NCAA Division I-AA. He was drafted third overall by the NFL's Houston Oilers in 1995. He became the Oilers' regular starting quarterback in 1997, their first season in Tennessee (though he started 6 games over the prior two seasons in Houston), and remained the starting quarterback for the Titans until 2005. After the 2005 season, McNair was traded to the Baltimore Ravens, with whom he played for two seasons before retiring.Super Bowl XXXIV with the Titans. McNair was selected to the Pro Bowl three times, and was All-Pro and Co-MVP in 2003.

On July 4th Steve McNair was found shot 4 times (2 in the head, 2 in the chest) in his condo in downtown Nashville. Later police reports say he was sitting on the couch. A young woman, 20 year old Sahel Kazemi, was also shot once in the head - she was found laying on the floor. A handgun was near Kazemi.

We've recently learned that Kazemi was McNair's girlfriend. She believed McNair was going to leave his wife for her. The gun found on the scene was discovered to have been purchased my Kazemi recently.

Investigators are trying to figure out if this was a murder-suicide or if another person was involved.

A public memorial will be held Thursday in Nashville, TN. A viewing is scheduled from 8am - 1:30pm at the Lewis and Wright Funeral Home Thursday. Another viewing will be held later that day from 3pm - 7pm at Mount Zion Baptist Church. The funeral is set for Saturday in Mississippi.
