Steve Phillips and Brooke Hundley ESPN Sex Scandal was 'Fatal Attraction'

ESPN analyst Steve Phillips has embroiled himself in another sex scandal. Steve Phillips and production assistant Brooke Hundley were having an affair this past summer, according to reports obtained by the New York Post. But when Steve Phillips decided to end the affair, Brooke Hundley took matters into her own hands, writing Marni Phillips, Steve's wife, and calling her on the phone to yell, "We both can't have him!" But this sex scandal has an ominous twist -- there are even allegations that Brooke Hundley may have even posed as a teen to elicit information from Steve and Marni Phillips' teenage son.

Steve Phillips has been down the sex scandal road before. Back in 1998, Steve Phillips settled a sexual harassment case out of court with Rosa Rodriguez, a New York Mets employee. Phillips was the General Manager of the Mets at the time and took a brief leave of absence after admitting to having sex with Rodriguez.

Steve Phillips, who worked with the Mets until 2003, began working for ESPN in 2005. In a series of reports and statements made by him and his wife, Marni, an affair turned "fatal attraction" seems to have unfolded from his latest dalliance. Marni Phillips said that she began receiving harassing phone calls and text messages on August 5 from a woman claiming to have information concerning her husband. Steve Phillips, when informed by his wife of the calls and messages, confessed to his wife. Then Marni Phillips received "disturbing" messages from Brooke Hundley on August 16. A voice mail told her that they both could not have her husband.

Then on August 19, Marni Phillips saw a woman in her driveway. The woman attempted to leave quickly but put her vehicle in reverse and slammed her car into a stone column of the Phillips' house. In the doorway, Marni Phillips found a revealing letter of Brooke Hundley's and Steve Phillips sexual encounters, including a graphic description of Steve Phillips' crotch, "so you know I'm not being fake."

Steve Phillips told police that he believed Brooke Hundley to be "obsessed and delusional." He told authorities that he feared for himself and his children.

In a statement, he told police, "Over a three-week span, I had a total of three sexual encounters with her. Those were the only times I spent any time alone with her."

Only is a relative term. The time Steve Phillips spent with Brooke Hundley made an impact on the 22-year-old production assistant. Getting him back into her life became a mission and she even allegedly attempted gathering information by posing as a teen classmate and flirting with the Phillips' 16-year-old son. He said she asked inappropriate questions, like were his parents sleeping together, and called his mother "baby mama," which angered him. He also said that when he wouldn't correspond, the writer would inundate his computer with messages.

Brooke Hundley even sent him numerous friend-requests on Facebook.

Marni Phillips has since sued her husband for divorce. He has admitted to having numerous affairs while working with the New York Mets as well. Phillips deed their multi-million dollar mansion to his wife two months ago.

ESPN has reportedly suspended Steve Phillips for at least a week.

This is the second scandal to rock the sports media giant in the past few months. Sideline reporter Erin Andrews found her naked image all over the internet in July and, with ESPN's support, issued a statement that anyone disseminating what became known as the "peephole video" would be prosecuted. The matter became a media sensation, remaining in the headlines for weeks. ESPN even began an internal investigation behind the belief that the perpetrator may have had access to Erin Andrews' itinerary. Those fears were allayed, however, when TMZ helped the FBI capture Michael David Barrett at the beginning of October. Barrett was arrested at Chicago's O'Hare airport on charges of suspicion of interstate stalking after attempting to sell the peephole video to TMZ.
