Steve Phillips, ESPN Analyst, Suspended Over Sex Scandal
Let's face it your boss who happens to be a big shot (or not) wants to have sex with you. Does it mean more money? Well if he falls in love with you or you threaten to hang it over his head (and perhaps wind up dead) it might. Phillips admitted to having sex with Hundley three times over three weeks. It seems he thinks that three times is better than 30.
This young woman did indeed tell Phillips' wife, Marni, age 40, about the sex after he dumped her. Steve Phillips is the former general manager for the Mets. At that time there were infidelity admissions.
Phillips told his wife and the police that he slept Hundley. I would think the police got involved because Hundley wrote Phillips' wife, smashed her car, and was seen as a threat. In fact according to Marni, Hundley left a disturbing voicemail. I would think there may have been an "If I can't have him neither can you" tone.
In addition it seems that Hundley might have tried to contact Phillip's son who is16 on Facebook. She tried to pass herself off as a classmate. The Phillips' couple (or non couple) didn't know Hundley had tried to contact their son, one of four children. It seems that when the son didn't respond she sent him numerous messages.
Apparently Marni had an idea about their affair. Their son's friend overheard Marni talking about her husband being enamored with someone at work.
One must wonder why a man would give up his family for a 3 time get together with a 22-year old. From the many reports I read I've learned that Marni is a very pretty blonde with green eyes.
Guys - I understand a man falling in love with another woman and vice versa. I don't understand a basically one night affair that ends one's career i.e. John Edwards and a plethora of others. Clue us in!
