Steven Seagal Scandal Heats Up as Ray Charles' Granddaughter Comes Forward

More Allegations Come to Light

Lyssa Rose
In a surprising twist, TMZ has reported that one of the women making sexual harassment claims against Steven Seagal, is the granddaughter of Ray Charles.

Blair Robinson, Ray Charles' granddaughter, has come forward to give her account of how Steven Seagal hired her to be his assistant and then allegedly proceeded to make sexual advances towards her on her first day on the job.

This story is eerily similar to the allegations made by Kayden Nguyen, who also claims that she was treated in a similar fashion by Seagal on her first day working for him. Nguyen was the first woman to come forth and since then two more women, including Blair Robinson, have come out of the woodwork to make similar allegations.

Does the fact that one of Seagal's accusers is the granddaughter of Ray Charles make these claims more believable?

Would the granddaughter of someone so famous want to come forward and put herself in the middle of a media circus, which could bring her a lot of criticism, if there was absolutely no truth to the allegations? After all, in cases such as this, often both the accused and the accusers end up getting a bad name, no matter who is telling the truth. Ray Charles' granddaughter seems an unlikely member of the "gotta get my 15 minutes of fame club". Her claims may certainly add to the credibility of the other accusers.

Huffington Post also reported last week, that Jenny McCarthy had told Movieline magazine, back in 1998, that while on the casting couch, Steven Seagal told her "Take off your dress". She declined to do so and vacated the movie "audition" in tears. Again, it should be noted that McCarthy did not just come out with this story. She made this statement 12 years ago. This certainly makes the other allegations seem more credible.

According to a another report by TMZ, Steven Seagal's ex-wife, Kelly LeBrock, has also stated that she is "not surprised" by the allegations and even hinted at more details to come in a tell-all book she has coming out.

Is there another side to Steven Seagal that movie fans never saw?

Throughout his career, Steven Seagal has portrayed himself as a person of integrity. It's disturbing for fans to think that Seagal was possibility behaving in a manner that shows he really has no integrity. Over the years, Steven Seagal has made several entertaining movies and most recently has been seen on TV in a reality show called "Steven Seagal Lawman", which is shown on A&E. In light of the sexual harassment allegations, according to Radar Online, A&E has ceased filming any new episodes for the time being.

If Steven Seagal is innocent and never committed any acts of sexual harassment, will it be possible for him to redeem his rapidly declining reputation?

It remains to be seen whether Steven Seagal is guilty of sexual harassment, but the claims made by the women are so similar in nature that it is not looking good. It may be difficult for Seagal to move forward and gain back the image of integrity that his now disillusioned fans have been used to.

Of course, in Hollywood, The Land of Make Believe, actors are just that, actors. They are skilled at pretending to be something they are not, in order to play a role in a movie.

Very interesting article. Hmmm, sounds like he's building quite a reputation and it's not necessarily good.

Hadn't heard of this, as you say it could be damaging for his career but if the allegations are correct then he should have thought about his actions first.

I know a woman who worked with Steven Seagal. None of this stuff about him surprises me in the least.
