Stevie Wonder's Tour Announced

According to Live Nation, Stevie Wonder is once again back in action, announcing on August 2 that he will indeed by hitting the road for the first time in more than a decade.

Stevie Wonder, known for his contemporary music, is one singer of our times to be considered a legend and an iconic star. His tour, known as " A Wonder Summer's Night" will begin with a night of hits by Stevie Wonder, as well as a song writing and performing "tour de force." Stevie has received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as a whopping 25 Grammy Awards throughout his impressive career.

His first stop on tour will be at Humphries in San Diego, CA on August 23rd and will last until September 20th, ending his tour at Boston's Bank of America Pavilion. His tour is being produced by Live Nation as well as company executive Larry Magid. If one would like to purchase a ticket to the tour, tickets will begin going on sale on Saturday, August 11th.

Stevie Wonder's outstanding capabilities has earned him 49 top 40 singles and Academy Award ® for "I Just Called to Say I Love You," as well as 32 number-one singles. Wonder also released the first live performance to reach the top of the charts in the United States with Fingertips Part Two. He was even awarded Billboard's 2004 Century Award. In 1989, with the Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Wonder's presence has been seen for decades. He made the citizens of the United States recognize the importance of Martin Luther King Day as a holiday in 1983. He also fought to put an end to apartheid in South Africa by his participation in the overwhelming 1985 " We Are the World" fund raiser. This fund raiser was particularly for hunger in Africa and ended up being a huge music industry mile stone for Wonder.

At the 22nd Kennedy Center Honors in 1999, President Clinton remarked: "In so many ways (Wonder) has helped to compose the remaining passages of Dr. King's legacy."

Among other honors for Stevie Wonder, he was the youngest to ever be honored with the Kennedy Center Honors. He is also well known for his impressive song writing talent. Wonder also remained able to put force in his words, from Motown prodigy to groundbreaking innovator.
