Sticky Signs for Your Car

Viktoria Carrella
There seems to be a non-spoken debate today regarding sticker signs for your car. Some people find them downright disgusting, making the car look cheap and gross. Others say that such signs add a homey feel to the automobile. Attaching alma mater stickers, and other representative memorabilia help the car put on display your style and personality. This debate is not one that will really take off (or end for that matter).

Political Sticky Signs

There are some more heated subtopics, however. For example, during election years people attach bumper stickers and sticky signs to their vehicles. And every so often, these people find themselves victims of sabotage when others from the opposing party come and mess up the signs and stickers, or put other stickers on top of them. This is likely to cause temper tantrums and frustration. It is important to be mindful and respectful when it comes to dealing with disagreements on sticky signs and bumper stickers. Freedom of speech is a right we are all entitled to.

Other Opinionated Sticky Signs

Opinionated signs can be both good and bad. Lots of times people use their cars as a way to speak out about what they believe in. Some are big opponents to animal cruelty, others are big into "going green," and still others have strong views on the topic of religion. Signs that fall into this category can be good in the sense that they put on display confidence and authority of the car owner. Whether or not others care is not always the big deal. Having a voice is what is important. But when it comes to having opinionated stickers that bash others' views and opinions, sometimes people cross the line.

Funny Sticky Signs

Some drivers just cannot help but try to provoke laughs. They do this by putting up funny bumper stickers and window signs on their vehicle. These signs are rarely irritating and frequently nice to see on the road.

Whether or not you are a fan of bumper stickers and window signs for the car, you can at least agree that people are entitled to putting their opinions and thoughts on their property. It may not always be fun to see, but a quality sign is more about the person who put it up than about the people who read it.
