Still Not Pregnant: Ways to Increase Your Chances of Getting Pregnant

Erin Rivera
There are some couples that seem to fall pregnant after only trying one or two times while others seem to struggle and begin to become frustrated wondering why they still are not pregnant. There are some methods and ways to help increase chances of becoming pregnant. Here is a look at some helpful tips for those couples who are looking to conceive.

One way to help increase your chances of becoming pregnant is to take a look at your diet and make some changes. Cutting back on alcohol and caffeine can really help increase the chances of falling pregnant sometimes more than 40%! Even just having a daily cup of coffee can affect fertility. So instead of doing a cup of coffee in the morning or afternoon, consider having a cup of hot tea that is not caffeinated. Having a well balanced diet full of nutrient rich food is also essential to helping couples increase their chances of conceiving. Consider eating foods rich in calcium, folac acid and zinc.

After taking a look at diet, go the extra mile and start increasing the amount you exercise as well. In order for the body to remain balanced it needs a certain amount of exercise. If you are not that into exercising, consider starting out by simply going for a walk for 15 minutes a day and increasing. Swimming is also an excellent form of exercise that is also relaxing. You do not have to concern yourself with exercising too much as this too, can affect your fertility.

Another helpful tip for helping couples increase their chances of getting pregnant is to take a look at timing. Generally, a female is the most fertile when she is ovulating and when her ovaries release an egg that is viable. While technically you will want to try to conceive during ovulation, this fertile period can actually last from up to five days before ovulation and last up to three days afterward leaving a good window of opportunity for couples to conceive. For women who are not sure when they are ovulating there are a few different ways to help. One is to look into ovulation kits that help them determine when exactly they ovulate. Most women assume that they have 28 day cycle but in actuality just as each woman is different, so is their cycle.

Lastly, relax! Some couples find that they become worried and anxious when they do not conceive right away and this actually just helps slow down the process all together. Instead, take a break! Go away for a weekend or a small vacation and just relax and enjoy each other's company. Sometimes this is just the trick to get things going and get that positive result you have been waiting for!
