Stimulus Payment Expected in May

With the writing of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Which was signed into law by our new president, Barrack Obama, on Febuary 17^th, 2009. Americans heaved a sigh of relief. Here was someone who had a heart for the little people. Someone who, we could count on to protect the interests of the lower and middle class population. We heaved a giant sigh of relief at the changes coming for our government, our schools, the job market and most importantly, our economy. Well, here we are just a mere few months later and social security, SSI, Veterans Affairs and Railroad Retirement recipients can look forward to receiving the first ripples from the effects of Obama's efforts. By the end of May 2009 those of us who depend on these monthly checks, should have received our portion of the stimulus payment from the government. Every recipient of the above mentioned should receive an extra $250.00 check that will be mailed or deposited, depending on how you normally receive your income. There is no action needed to be taken by those who are eligible.

On how this is supposed to help our economy overall, I'm really not sure. Maybe if we each took that money and invested it somewhere, but in today's economy, the majority of us who receive this income are just worried about getting the light bill paid up or buying enough food to feed our kids for the rest of the month. Maybe we'll use the money to take our kids on a rare shopping trip or do something nice for our family. It would be interesting to see just how American's will use this money given to us by Obama. Its not that im against Obama, or what he stands for. I think its wonderful that we finally have someone in the white house who looks out for ' the little people.' I'm just left to wonder what's going to become of us in say, 5 years down the road. Should we even worry about where the finances of the American people will be in that time. I dont know, i suppose theres no easy answers. so, I guess for now, we'll enjoy the extra money Obama's giving us in may. For some of us, it might mean a vacation or a new toy for our kids. for others, maybe they'll eat a little better or not have to worry about paying a past due bill for that month. Whatever you may decide to do with it. I have one little piece of advice. Have Fun!
