Stink Bug Invasion Coping Tips

Teresa (Tracey) Stanisha
Many people are being affected by the stink bugs. Their little dinosaur looking backs can make you cringe. They are not pretty to look at, but yet they don't hurt human beings. They will worm their way into your home and then climb lazily across your windows, ceilings and floors usually heading to a light. They also leave their phenomenal smell behind so that their buddies outside know where to go, thus you find that there are more and more of them entering your home.

If you have been affected by these unwelcome pests then you know what it feels like and it can be aggravating running around trying to kill them all. You will find that the best remedy is keeping them out of your home in the first place. Make sure that doors are closed tightly. Windows should have screens in them. If there is a hole in the screen, be sure to patch it up quickly.

One remedy for getting rid of the stink bugs when they invade your home is to spray rubbing alcohol on them. This will stop them in their tracks and kill the scent that they leave behind that attracts their fellow buddies to the scene. If you don't have rubbing alcohol, Lysol spray also works well. Spray it on the creatures and also on the area that they seem to be attracted to. For instance, a ceiling light. The Lysol spray will kill that familiar scent and will usually keep many of them away.

Being that they are a nuisance in the home and a pain the butt, they can also make your garden a mess. They are attracted to anything that has sugar in it, so don't be too disappointed if some of your crops are not doing as well as usual.

Those stink bug woes will bother you for a while, because when they come to visit they usually stay for a while. All over the country people are having problems with them..

Stink bugs are not like cockroaches, so in that sense they are the lesser of the two evils. They are however a huge nuisance and for many people cause a lot of frustration. They can drive some people absolutely crazy. Remember to stay calm when you are in the midst of a stink bug invasion and try not to let it get the best of you.

The only comforting thing to know about stink bugs is that they will not hurt you. If you get too frustrated just let them hang out a little in your home until you have the energy to put on your gasmask and get out the rubbing alcohol and Lysol spray in hand and spend the day getting rid of each and every one of them. You should know, they will most likely start coming around again and then you can repeat the process all over again.
