Stock Photography Websites: Make Money from Photos

It's hard to make money online. One way to make money online is to submit your photos to different stock photography websites. You are probably wondering what this means. Large companies will pay a large fee to be able to obtain a lot of different photos for their magazines, websites and company. They will go to stock photography sites, pay a yearly fee, and upload all of the pictures that they want. The stock photography websites will then pay you money every time the company downloads your pictures. Sometimes you will make 25 cents per picture, sometimes you will make a lot more.

You must have a digital camera to take the pictures. Every photo website will have different requirements. One stock photography website is known as Shuttershock. You will need to take a picture of your photo id and submit it to the website. This company is hard to get to accept photographs. I've submitted many pictures to this website without any luck. The reason I submitted so many pictures is because I heard that one lady made $175,000 off of Shuttershock since they have opened about a year and a half ago.

All the photography websites will want the pictures to be a certain size. I would suggest picking two of the biggest stock photography websites. If you are a graphic designer, you can make a lot of money from selling your illustrations. A few of the biggest stock photography websites are Shuttershock, Fotolia and IStockPhoto. I would suggest sticking with these three companies, so that you don't spend a lot of time resizing all of the pictures that you take. I would change the settings on your camera to make sure the size is correct so that you don't need to resize the photo.

The more pictures you have, the more money that you will make. Your pictures have to look like magazine photos. Go to the website to get some ideas about the pictures you will want to take. It's very hard to get your pictures accepted if you are not a photographer. You are competing with a lot of big name photographers on these websites. I have submitted around 50 pictures to all of these websites and only gotten a few of my pictures published. I went through Featurepics and got a photo accepted. It's a picture of my show cat. You can make money off of these sites but only choose the best paying sites that get the most traffic.
