Stocking Stuffer Christmas Gift Ideas and Tips For Technology Freaks

Techies Can Still Rejoice the Holidays with Gifts for Under $100

J.A. McLynne
Technology freaks love the holidays. Major electronic outlets and online shops are awash in new products and discounts for the latest electronic gadgets are hawked from every Sunday paper insert, street corner, and web advertisement. Techies know that even with the big discounts, the little bits and pieces of copper, silicon, and plastic that make up electronic gadgets still add up to a hefty price. Yet these tech devices can make great stocking stuffers if you can find one for the right price.

If you are not a techie, and want to buy a gift for a techie, the task can be quite daunting due to the dollar amounts that are involved with the purchase. For those who are non-tech savvy, there are ways to get around spending large amounts of money on electronics by getting stocking stuffers for less than $100, that will satisfy the holiday spirit of your tech loving friend or partner.

Weather Station Key Chain
Get a little device that can forecast the weather in a package as small as a key chain. The TechTools Weather Station Key Chain comes in with a price tag at around $20 at most online retail outlets. This little device tells time, temperature, and has an LED flashlight. It even tell you the phases of the moon!

Zagg Cover for iPad, iPod, or iPhone
Your techie friend or partner probably has an iPad or iPod. Chances are that he or she may need a cover to protect the device. Zagg makes a great line of covers for most handheld devices, including iPods and iPads. You can also find covers for many different types of mobile phones at Zagg's company website. Zagg products are also available at Best Buy. Just about all of Zagg's products come in with a price tag at under $100, and make great stocking stuffers.

Map Update for their favorite GPS
Garmin Lifetime Map Updates are available for under $100 at many online retail outlets. They came available as a gift card that has a code number. When you get the card, simple enter the code number into the website with your GPS connected and you get a lifetime of map updates. These GPS map update gift cards make great stocking stuffers for Christmas!

Charging Station for all of their electronic gadgets
Does your techie friend have a ton of devices that always seem to be low on power. Are wall warts strewn about your home, and you have no idea what device connects to which charging unit? Get your techie friend a charging station for his gadgets, and get his or her life organized. While a charging valet may not quite fit in the stocking, it will look great under the tree as a techie gift that costs less than $100.

External Terabyte Disk Drive
Computer backups are becoming more important as techies store more music, movies, and data on their home computer. Most external disk drives make great stocking stuffers and come in at a price that is under $100. Help your techie freak friend have the confidence in knowing that their computer files are safely backed up with an external terabyte disk drive. These drives are compatible with just about any computer system and make great stocking stuffers.

If none of the above ideas pique your interest and you are totally unsure what to purchase as a gift, then the old standby is the gift card. Gift cards will allow the person to make the choice of purchase. They could either make a purchase of an item for under $100 or they can apply the money to something much larger. Gift cards are available from NewEgg, Amazon, or an App Store.
