Stocking Stuffer Ideas for LDS Adults

Adults can be hard to shop for and when it comes to stocking stuffers, things can get pretty boring. Here are some great stocking stuffer ideas for LDS adults in your life - whether your spouse, grown children, or parents. Plenty of ideas for men are included, because stocking stuffer ideas for men are especially hard to come by.

Hymn Book. If you don't have a hymn book in your home, you need to get one. Give your significant other a hymn book in his or her stocking, or splurge and get a pocket-sized hymnal with his or her name embossed on it. Then you can enjoy the hymns in your own home, use them for family home evening, and bring music into your home.

Consecrated Oil Keychain. If your husband, father, or son doesn't have a vial for carrying consecrated oil on his keychain, then this will be a great stocking stuffer. You can buy these for as little as $3.50 at Deseret Book. This is a must for any Melchizedek Priesthood holder to carry with him.

Tie Clip or Pin. If the man in your life doesn't have something to hold his tie together, consider putting a tie clip or tie tack in his stocking. Tie clips and pins are available in many different styles, from depictions of Book or Mormon characters and temples to sports equipment. You can find something for everyone for $5-10 at Deseret Book. If your man is a little more upscale, you could even consider putting a pair of cufflinks in his stocking.

Tie. Between stains, boredom and wear and tear, it may be time for a new tie this year. Ties are available in every color of the rainbow, every pattern imaginable, and with every cartoon character in existence. Even if your husband has dozens of ties, he is likely tired of most of them and could use a new one to brighten his Sunday - especially if he has to wear a tie to work as well.

Wallet. For under $20 you can purchase a leather wallet embossed with a temple, saying or Book of Mormon character. If your husband's wallet is showing signs of wear, this would make a great stocking stuffer this year.

Books. There are always new, uplifting LDS books being published that make great stocking stuffers for Mormon women. Consider Gordon B. Hinckley's Standing for Something, or for women in your life, Merrilee Boyack's Toss the Guilt and Keep the Joy or the latest book by Sheri Dew. Make sure you use a paperback book as a stocking stuffer; unless it is a small "gift" book, a hardback book isn't likely to fit into a stocking.

Music. The latest release by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is an easy stocking stuffer. It's something perfect to listen to on Sundays and it's always nice to add variety to the Sunday music options. A CD fits great in most stockings.

Church Magazine Subscription. Purchasing a subscription to a Church magazine for your spouse, sibling, child or parent makes an inexpensive and useful stocking stuffer. Subscribe adults to the Ensign and get the New Era or the Friend for children and teenagers in your life.

Desk Calendar. You can find scripture-a-day calendars (including LDS versions with all books of scripture) at Deseret Book. Calendars with pictures of Christ or pictures from Church History are also available in small sizes.
