Stocking Stuffer Ideas for LDS Teens

Looking for something unique to put in the stocking for your Mormon teenagers? Hoping to put a little emphasis on their faith, or to encourage them in Seminary? Here are some LDS-themed stocking stuffer ideas to use for your teenager at Christmas.

One piece of advice on stocking stuffers for LDS teens - don't do an entirely Mormon themed stocking. Very few teenagers will appreciate it if you've gone overboard buying LDS-themed items for their stockings. One or two of the following items will reinforce your faith without overdoing it.

Games. There are tons of fun LDS-themed games that teenagers would love to play. An LDS version of the party game Mad Gab called "Mormon Mouthful" is available for $15 at Deseret Book. There is also the classic LDS quiz game Seek, also $15, that will help your teens brush up on things they've learned in Seminary and Sunday School. Both of these games are small enough to use as a stocking stuffer. There are many other LDS card games available to be used as a stocking stuffer.

Pocket Hymn Book. Small hymn books can be bought through the Church Distribution Center and can be embossed with your teenager's name. They are available in the same colors as leather scriptures and fit in the front pocket of most standard scripture cases. This makes it easy for your teen to carry it to firesides, take to Young Women's Camp or on Scouting trips where hymns may be sung but hymn books won't be available.

CTR Ring. Nice, but inexpensive CTR rings are available at most LDS bookstores. For around $10 you can find a CTR ring in your child's favorite color, or even in a different language. These are much nicer than the cheap CTR ring children receive in Primary, but not so expensive that losing it would be tragic - just right for a teenager.

Lip Balm. You can buy lipbalm for a couple dollars at Deseret Book with different sayings on it. Sayings such as "Choose the Right" and "Future Missionary" are available.

Keychain. For a teenager learning to drive, a keychain to hold his or her own car key makes a terrific stocking stuffer. A favorite keychain is a very small rod that says "hold to the rod." Many other LDS keychains are available at LDS bookstores.

New Era Postcards. For 50 cents you can purchase one of 7 different New Era postcard sets. These clever reminders of Gospel principles will reinforce your teenager's values daily. 8 cards are in each set.

Scripture Marker. Halfway through the year, your teenager could probably use a new scripture marker for Seminary. Put a red pencil in your teen's stocking for Christmas.

Scripture Mastery Helps. Bookmarks, cards and stickers are available to help Seminary students learn the scripture mastery verses for each year. The removable Scripture Mastery scripture stickers are especially cool. They are beautiful, colored illustrations that you can read through, one for each scripture mastery verse for all four course years.
