Is there a Writer in your life? You will know by the constant sound of the keyboard and the little, scribbly notes they are always keeping about the projects they are working on. If you are looking for stocking stuffer ideas for a Writer, here are some ideas to get you started.

Good Pens. While at this point literally all of us have a computer, many Writers use a pen and paper to flesh out ideas. Or they keep a journal for personal use. This means they have a pen addiction that ranges from mild to deeply serious. Giving your fellow Writer some terrific pens, whether they be gel pens, calligraphy, marker or metallic - they will be much appreciated and used more quickly than you would think!

Mini Notebooks. One thing many Writers learn early is to keep a mini notebook on them at all times to record ideas and flashes of inspiration as they come to them. This means they go through a boatload of mini notebooks. Giving your Writer some mini notebooks is an ideal Christmas stocking stuffer idea and these will be enjoyed a great deal.

Audiobook. Writers are readers. Big readers. They read just about everything. Writers read when they are doing everything and this includes exercising. Many writers enjoy listening to audiobooks while they are exercising. So they can go through audiobooks quickly. An audiobook can be an excellent gift idea, and something they will appreciate - as writing is as much a physical sport as it is a mental one. You need to be energized and in shape to be a good writer.

Bookstore Gift Certificate. Writers literally haunt bookstores. They have obscene bookstore bills. A gift certificate to a bookstore will probably be used the day after Christmas and it will be used down to the very penny. This is a gift that your Writer will enjoy and will squeal with delight over seeing in their Christmas stocking.

Magazine Subscription. Do I have to say that writers read everything? I think I've said this before. If a writer is working on a novel set in a certain time or location, they will read all about it to soak up all the information they can to get the setting and the time just exactly right. Many writers read various magazine subscriptions. Getting a writer a magazine subscription is a very welcomed gift. There are so many magazines to select from, just visit any large bookstore and look through the racks to get some ideas.

A Writing Class. A great gift idea is a gift certificate to a writing class. There are even writing classes offered online, as well as in schools in various locations. You can find a class for every genre. A writing class gift certificate would be a great gift.
