Stocking Stuffers for Work at Home Freelance Writers

S Faloon
The writer in your house spends many hours searching for the right words to use to write articles and Internet content. He may have a novel in the works and is dedicating every spare moment working on the project. Fill your writer's stocking with small objects that fit your budget and spurs your writer on.

Writing Utensils Every writer needs a decent pen. Choose a custom made, hand turned wooden pen for your favorite writer. Check out one of the many holiday craft shows and you'll be sure to find a crafter who makes these beautiful pens. You will be supporting a local crafts person who is trying to make a living too. A pencil and pen set is another good gift for the writer who likes to draw or doodle when working on a project.

Notebooks Gather up some small notebooks for your writer at the local dollar store. Writers need to keep a notebook on a bedside stand, in a pocket, briefcase or purse to record those striking thoughts that spark an article, short story or novel idea.

Sustenance A dedicated freelance writer can easily spend hours at the desk working on assignments. Your writer is going to need refreshments to keep going and bring in the big bucks. Pick stocking stuffers that the writer on your list enjoys eating and drinking. Charge up a favorite coffee gift card, add in a mug and a tin of tea bags. Choose nuts, sunflower seeds and granola bars for the nature lover. Fill that stocking with M&M's, Lindt Lindor truffles or home made chocolate chips cookies for the writer with real taste. These goodies and many more can fit nicely into a Christmas stocking.

Books-Guides New and seasoned freelance writers can always use a good thesaurus, dictionary or Associated Press Stylebook on their work desk. The Elements of Style by Strunk and White is an essential tool for every writer and it is just the right size for a stocking stuffer.

The Comfort Zone A writer would be thrilled to find items that give comfort during long hours on the
computer. If your writer has frequent bouts with cold hands find some fingerless gloves to tuck into that sock on the wall. An ergonomic wireless mouse can be a treasure for a person that is constantly using her hands.
The winter months bring many cold nights of writing and long hours of fighting the chill in the air. Check out some warm socks and slippers for that writer with cold feet.

Ultra Comfort Zone Help that stay at home freelance writer out by sticking in a pair of movie, theater or game tickets into that overflowing stocking. A gym membership would be another good choice to pry that writer from the chair for a breather.

Health and Welfare Vitamins and supplements will fit into a writer's stocking quite easily. After all the sustenance goodies you need to keep your writer healthy.

Humor Reigns Craft your novelist her own writer's block. Choose a piece of wood or a cube of notepaper and decorate with the letters, W-R-I-T-E-R. If your writer has this block there will be no need to develop another. Toss a container of antacids in for the deadline hours and tablets for the big headaches. Slip a large tube of hemorrhoid cream in to the writer's stocking. Writing can be so very hard on the sit-upon. Package up a blood, sweat and tears kit comprised of tissues, bandages and antiperspirant, to show that you really do understand what your writer goes through every day.

Make your writer happy this holiday season and you may have an article or poem written about you in the new year ahead.

Those ideal stocking stuffers for writers could have been conceived only by an obsessive writer! I have a sneaky feeling that this article is going to get into the hands of many writers' partners! Great article! BTW, I wouldn't be without my Chambers Dictionary, Roget's Thesaurus, and Strunk & White-- as you mentioned!
