Stone Creek Dining Company Review

Simply Superb

It was Girls Night Out and nine of us started our night at Stone Creek Dining Company in Montgomery. This was my fourth visit to this deliciously fantastic restaurant and the food did not disappoint. Previously, I've had lunch here twice and also had a great dinner with friends on New Year's Eve.

We had a nice server who did really well taking orders from nine chatty women. She explained about Stone Creek's Wine Flight club - you get a little card that they date and if you try so many wines (I think it's 21 different kinds), then you can get a $50 gift certificate to the Woodhouse Day Spa located next door. What could be better, wine and relaxation? Stone Creek has dining options to fit all sorts of budgets. There are soups, salads and sandwiches (price ranges from $5.99 to $13.99) and then there are more fine dining options (price ranges from $14.99 to $25.99). The server first brought us warm bread that was accompanied by a spicy dipping sauce and it was very tasty.

I started out with a cup of the Creamy Potato Leek Soup ($3.49/cup) and it was yummy - it came out piping hot and had a delectable blend of bacon, chives and cheese on the top. For my main course, I opted for the Black & Bleu steak salad ($12.99). The steak was nicely cooked and the salad was filled with crisp romaine lettuce, roasted red peppers, grilled asparagus and blue cheese. I always request my dressing on the side and I'm glad I did since you really didn't need too much of the peppercorn parmesan dressing with the blue cheese already there. My friends had a range of meals from the Ahi Tuna appetizer ($9.99), Scallop and Crab Fettuccini ($15.99) and Filet Mignon ($20.99 6oz. cut). Everyone said there meals were excellent which says a lot for Stone Creek - pleasing nine different palettes can be quite a feat. Maybe that is why the restaurant was bustling with guests.

I love the décor of this restaurant - it is contemporary with modern art pieces adorning the walls. My only problem was that we were seated in a main walk way right next to the kitchen and since I was on the end, my purse kept getting knocked as guests were being escorted to their tables. I wish we could have sat in one of the main dining areas instead but maybe because we had a large party of expressive (code word for loud) women, they may have strategically placed us here. Another nice aspect of dinner was having our server split our checks without any problem - she definitely deserved the 20% gratuity that is automatically added to large parties.

Overall, I would highly recommend Stone Creek Dining Company for your next night out. If you go for lunch, take a walk through downtown Montgomery and visit some of the nice boutique shops that are there. Stone Creek is one my fave places in our northern Cincy area. The tuna salad sandwich is to die for - if you think you've tasted Tuna Salad try theirs. Also, Wed. is $4 Martini night woo hoo. Candace
