Augusta, Missouri is a quaint little town cushioned along the Missouri River Valley about 35 miles outside of St. Louis. Augusta is right in the heart of Missouri wine country and is well known for it's many wineries and bed and breakfasts.
I found Stoneridge Vineyard Farm and Inn on line and was blown away by the breathtaking pictures. I couldn't believe that it was only $175.00 per night (up to $195.00 for the fanciest room). I was able to check availability and make a reservation right on their website. I did not find these features on websites for other bed and breakfasts in Augusta.
Stoneridge Vineyard is a Bavarian country estate and sits on 200 acres in Missouri wine country. When we arrived for our stay, we couldn't believe how amazing the view was. The bed and breakfast sits on a bluff overlooking a beautiful lake and several vineyards.
One of the Stoneridge owners, Johnny, greeted us right away. he showed us to our room and gave us a bottle of wine to enjoy as well as cheese and crackers. We enjoyed these amenities on the Stoneridge bluff above the amazing view.
Our room at Stoneridge was great. We had our own fireplace and jacuzzi bath tub as well as a breakfast table. It also had an amazing king size bed with the most comfortable sheets I've ever slept on. If we needed refreshments, there was a community fridge available just outside our door.
Johnny was very helpful in helping us find a place for dinner in Augusta. He even offered to call and make reservations. After we returned from our wonderful dinner, I was able to enjoy a soak int he tub and some spa treatment products that were available in the room. We then played scrabble in front of the fireplace. Just when I thought the night couldn't get any better, we got a knock at the door and were delivered a delicious late night snack of homemade bread made by the other Stoneridge owner, Carol.
In the morning, we were served a hearty homemade breakfast in our room. Although we had to get going, Johnny and Carol encouraged us to stay and explore Stoneridge Vineyard, which I thought was a very nice gesture.
I would definitely love to visit Stoneridge Vineyard Farm and Inn in Augusta again sometime soon. It had everything I was looking for in a bed and breakfast: gorgeous scenery, welcoming hosts, great amenities, and affordability. I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary.
